Last Saturday, I went to London with my parents. Mum drove us there in the car. My cousin Michael went to London too, but he went there by train. He had a heavy bag with him. “Put your bag in our car, Michael,” Dad said, “We’re going to walk now.” “No, thanks. Maybe I can use it,” Michael said. We went to the Car Museum first. I asked Dad lots of questions, but he didn’t know the answers. Michael took a book about cars out of his bag. “Here you are!” he said to Dad, Then Dad found the answers in the book. When we left the museum, it was rainy. “It’s OK,” said Michael. “I have an umbrella in my bag.” Then we went to a restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, we wanted to go to the cinema, but we couldn’t find it. Michael took a map of London out of his bag and we soon found it. After the film, Michael wanted to buy a card, but he didn’t have any money in his pocket. “Look for it in your bag!” we all said.

On Sunday, my family and I went for a ride in a hot air balloon(热气球). Early in the morning, we went to a park outside the city. There was a big blue and white balloon on the grass. We met the pilot(飞行员) and the other passengers(乘客).

The fire made the air hot. The hot air went into the balloon and soon the balloon took off(起飞). We all stood in a big basket beneath(在……之下) the balloon and went up into the sky. It was exciting. The weather was very good. The wind wasn’t strong. We floated(漂浮) over the beautiful city in the basket. I loved looking down at the city. We could see all the buildings, roads and parks. We could see the river too.

We stayed up in the air for one hour. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Len was thirty years old and he had very long hair. He lived in a big city. Because of his long hair, he did not find any work. One day he met an old friend, and this man said to him," People in this city don't like long hair. Why don't you go to a barber? He can cut a lot of it off, and then you can get some work." At the barber's Len said to the barber," Please cut most of my hair off."

The barber began. He cut and cut for a long time and then he said to Len," Were you in the army a few years ago?"

"Yes, I was." Len answered. "Why did you ask that?"

"Because I found a cap in your hair."

Yesterday was Saturday. The weather was sunny and hot. Tony and Tom went to the park. They played tennis in the park. After a while(过一会儿), their clothes were wet. And their shoes were dirty. They were tired(累的). But they were happy.

Mrs Jones is an American doctor. Now she is in China. She works in a children’s hospital in Shanghai. She likes the children and she likes to work for children. She works hard in the day time and learns Chinese in the evening school. She also learns Chinese from the Chinese doctors and her Chinese friends. Now she can speak some Chinese. She can read and write some Chinese, too. She says it’s not easy to learn Chinese well. Mr Jones, her husband is a teacher. He teaches English in the No. 5 Middle School. He works from Monday to Friday. He teaches 3 classes every day.

Long, long ago there lived a king. He was very old and he had no children. So he wanted to select a new king in the country.

One day, the king asked his ministers to give all the children in the country some flower seeds and told them, "Who can plant the most beautiful flowers will be the king."

 A child named David planted the seeds and looked after them carefully. But day after day, no flowers came out from the basin. He was very disappointed.

It was time to show the most beautiful flowers. The children from all over the country came with their beautiful flowers.

The king walked in front of the children. When he saw the beautiful flowers, he was very unhappy.

Suddenly, he saw a child carrying an empty basin. He was very glad and asked the boy, "Why do you carry an empty basin?" The boy cried and told him the truth.

The king laughed, "You are an honest boy. You will be the future king." In fact, the seeds had been boiled.

My name is Mike. I am 12. I like singing. I am from Nanhai. My friend and I had a long holiday last month. We went on a trip. I went to Hangzhou with my parents by plane. We saw the West Lake(西湖）. John is my cousin. He is one year older than me. He went to Beijing by train. He visited the Great Wall（长城）. Alice is my pen pal（笔友）. She is from Canada. She is in Guangzhou now. She went to Hong Kong by bus. She ate good food and bought some clothes. Tim is Alice’s classmate. He is English. He went to Huangshan by plane. He climbed the mountains. Tim and Alice are one year younger than me. We are all in Grade 6 now. We are going to a new middle school in September. We will be in Grade 7（七年级）.

Dick was not old, but he does not have much hair. His wife Emma has thick beautiful black hair. They have a son. His name is Peter, and he is five years old.

One day, Dick was reading a book in his study. Peter looked at his father for a long time and then said to his mother, "Why does Papa have so little hair, Mama?"

Emma laughed and said, "He has little hair because he thinks a lot. He's a very clever man." Peter looked at his mother's thick black hair for a few seconds and then said, "Then I know why you have so much hair."
