Lectures on happiness are becoming increasingly popular in Harvard University. I went to one of them, which left a lasting impression on me. While we were listening with close attention, the speaker suddenly stopped and started a game, giving each person a balloon. Each one was asked to write their name on it using a pen. Then the 100 students from 25 schools were divided into two groups.

Now the two groups were in different rooms with their balloons flying in it. The first group of 50 students were asked to find the balloon with their name on it within 5 minutes. Everyone was hurriedly searching for their own name, pushing and running into each other, and there was lots of noise. At the end of 5 minutes, none of them could find their own balloon.

The second half, on the other hand, was asked to randomly (随机地) collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

This is exactly happening in our lives. Everyone is hurriedly looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is. Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness, and you will get your own happiness. And this is the purpose of human life.

1.What happened to the first group?
A.None made any noise at all.B.None found their balloon
C.Everyone found their friends.D.Everyone helped one another.
2.How many students found their own balloons in the game?
A.5.B.25.C.50.D.100.
3.According to the text, which of the following is TRUE?
A.Everyone pushed each other in the two groups.
B.Students in the game come from the same school.
C.Our happiness comes from the happiness of others.
D.Students learned nothing about happiness in the game.
4.Which of the following can be the best title for the text?
A.Finding HappinessB.Having Lectures
C.Collecting BalloonsD.Playing Games

There are numerous resources available for you to learn a language online, and many of them are free.

Watch TV in the language you’re studying. 1. For example, if you have the television on while you’re washing dishes, that is passive listening. To use TV viewing as a tool to improve your language skills, pay attention and watch actively. 2. In this way, you can understand what’s being said. Later, you might turn on subtitles in the language you're learning.

Listen to music or podcasts. 3. Another advantage of listening to music or to a podcast is that you’re free to do something else at the same time.

Don’t be afraid to start with children’s books or comic books online. You likely learned how to read your native language through children’s books, and you can learn another language the same way. 4.

5. If the language you’re studying is an official language of a country, there will typically be national news and entertainment websites in that language. Do a general online search for “news” with the name of the country. You might try doing your search in the language to bring up websites that are in that language.

A.Learn about the culture behind the language.
B.Turn on subtitles in your own language at first.
C.Visit international news or entertainment websites.
D.This helps to listen to the language as often as possible.
E.The words will be simpler and easier for you to understand.
F.However, you must employ active rather than passive listening.
G.The repetition of most music lyrics makes them a way to learn language.
