Shhh, it’s sleeping. Is it hibernating? A tree squirrel, like this red squirrel in Scotland, doesn’t hibernate during the winter. Hibernating is animals spending winter in a deep sleep. Most ground squirrels like hibernating, but the red squirrel cares about where it sleeps. It builds its home in the hole of an evergreen tree, high above the ground. Mary and Jenny lived next to each other. They also studied in the same class. But Mary did not play with Jenny.
