Summer Safety Tips

Summer is a great time of the year. You go swimming in a lake or pool. You spend time at the beach and play in the ocean. But don’t forget these tips.

1. Always swim with an adult. Even the best swimmers should not swim alone. Why? You might get a cramp.

2. Do not run when you are near a pool, lake or sea. Accidents can happen quickly.

3. The hot sun can burn your skin. So use sunscreen to protect yourself. Your eyes should be protected, too. So wear sunglasses or a hat. Make sure you drink lots of water on hot days, too.

If you follow these simple tips, you will have a great and safe summer!

Many people like to travel by plane, but I don't like it because an airport is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours for the plane to take off and it is often late. You can't open the window. You can't choose the food. Planes are fast, but it still takes hours to get out of the airport and into the city.I like traveling by train. I think trains are safe. The stations are usually in cities. When you can't catch a train, you can catch another one. You can walk around in the train. You can see many interesting things on your way. And the trains are fast too.I also like cars. You can start your trip when you want to, and you don't need to reach a train station or a bus stop. Also you can carry many things with you in a car. But sometimes there are too many cars on the road.

The story is about two mice. They are friends. One mouse lives in the country. The other lives in the city. One day they meet each other. The one in the country says, “Come and have a look at my house.” They come to a house in a field. The country mouse gives the city mouse nice food. But the city mouse says. “This food is not good. You must come and live with me in the city.”

So they go to the house of the city mouse. It is a very good house. Nice food is ready (准备）for them to eat. But just when they begin to eat, they hear a great noise. “Run! Run! The cat is coming!” the two friends run away quickly. After some time, they go out. The country mouse says to the city mouse, “I don’t like to live in the city. It’s dangerous.”

Journey to the north (北方)

Last summer, a special “tour group” caught people’s eyes. This group was a family of 15 wild (野生的，野外的) Asian (亚洲的) elephants. They lived in Xishuangbanna (西双版纳) in the south of Yunnan. The year before last, they left their home and started to move north. They traveled more than 500 kilometers and visited many places in Yunnan, including (包括) Pu’er, Yuxi and Eshan. They walked through mountains, forests, rivers and even city streets. They ate in the fields and slept in the wild. Everyone wanted to know when the elephants would stop walking.

Sally’s old grandfather lived with her. Every morning he went for a walk in the park and come home at half past twelve for his lunch. But one morning a police car stopped near Sally’s house at twelve O’clock, and two policemen helped her grandfather to get out. One of them said to Sally: "The old man lost his way in the park and called us for help, so we sent a car to bring him home.” Sally was very surprised, but she thanked the policemen and they left. "But, grandfather,” she asked, "you go to the park every day for twenty years. How did you lose your way? The old man smiled and said, "I didn’t lose my way. I was just tired and didn’t want to walk home.”

My Wonderful Travel

I am Yang Ling. My parents and I will go on a trip next Sunday. We will travel for ten days. First, we will go to America. We will go to New York. We will go to Hawaii too. It will be hot there. So we will stay there only two days. We will go swimming there. Next, we will go to England. We will visit Big Ben, the London Eye and Tower Bridge. Then, we will go to Paris. At last, we will go back to Beijing by plane. I think this travel must be wonderful. Because we can visit different places.

Hi, I am Su Hai. Next month, I will be 13 years old. On my birthday, I will stay with my family. We will have a lot of things to do. We are going to watch a film, play in the park and have dinner in a restaurant. My parents will buy me a new shirt and I am going to wear it on that day. There will be a new film. My birthday is on Sunday. Many people will go to the park on that day. So, it is going to be fun. But my grandfather will not come, because he will be busy on the day. I hope my birthday will come soon. It is going to be a nice day.

Last summer vacation

Last summer vacation, Li Ming went to Dalian with his parents. Dalian is clean and beautiful. They went to the beach on the first day. Li Ming’s father and mother swam in the sea, but Li Ming couldn’t swim. He played with sand and made a sand castle（城堡）. The next day, they went to see the sea animals. Then they ate some seafood. It was very delicious. On the third day, they watched a volleyball match. It was exciting. They had a good time there.
