My name is Ann. I have two pen friends. They are Susan and Zhang Li. Susan is from the US. She is short and fat. She likes reading stories, listening to music and watching TV. Her favourite hobby is doing taijiquan. She is learning Chinese. She wants to visit China. Zhang Li is from China. He is tall and thin. He likes playing table tennis, swimming and climbing mountains. He also likes going to the cinema, but his favourite hobby is making kites. He can draw nice pictures on them. He usually makes kites on the weekend.

Linda is a little girl. She comes from Canada. She likes music very much. She’s good at playing the piano (钢琴) and the guitar (吉他). She plays the guitar better than the piano. She often plays them in the evening. She also likes film. She often goes to the cinema with her parents on Sundays. When she sees the film, she likes to eat popcorn. She wants to be a guitar player in the future (将来).

The Smiths like to go out for a trip on Sundays. This Sunday they want to go to the West Hill.

Jack and Mike, the sons, get up very very early in the morning. Jack puts on a shirt and jeans, and Mike puts on a T-shirt and jeans. They also put on their running shoes. After they help their mother do he housework around the house, they put bread, meat, eggs, and some fruit in a basket and carry it to the car.

Mrs Smith also takes five tins of cola with her. The little dog is running after her. It wants to go with them too. Mr Smith is ready to drive the car. They look very happy.

A crow (乌鸦) is sitting high up in the tree. He has a piece of meat in his mouth. A fox (狐狸) comes and sees the crow. He thinks, “I will get the meat.” “Oh, Crow, ” calls the fox, “Your voice (声音) is the most beautiful in the word! Please sing a song for me! ” The crow has never heard anyone say such sweet words before. He opens up his mouth and begins to squawk (嘎嘎叫), and the meat drops from his mouth. The fox says to the crow, “Thank you for your meat, Mr Crow. ” He takes the meat in his mouth and runs away.

Bill is an English boy. He is twelve. He lives (住) with his family in China. There are four people in his family. He has a yellow dog. Its name is Barbi. Bill’s father is mending his bike. What is Bill doing? Ah, he is doing Chinese homework. Bill’s father works in a middle school. He’s an English teacher. His mother is in a TV factory (工厂). Bill and his sister go to the same school.

I have four pen friends. This is my new friend, Peter. He's from Australia. He has black hair. He has big eyes. He likes sports. And he smiles (笑)a lot. This is Tom. He is from America. He is strong. He has small eyes and yellow hair. He likes science. Jane is from England. She's quiet. She has big eyes, a small nose and curly(卷曲的)hair. She likes music. This is Betty. Betty is from China. She is short. She has long black hair. She likes painting.

Tom is seven. He goes to school every day. The school is near his home, so he goes there on foot and comes back home on time（按时）. But today he is late. His mother asks him, “Why are you late today?”

“I am in the teacher's office（教师办公室）。”

“Why do you go to the teacher's office?”

“Because my teacher asks us a question in class. Nobody can answer it, but I can. ”

“It's good to answer the teacher's question. ”

“But the question is‘Who put ink on my chair?’ ”

We have many new teachers this term. They are from different countries. Ms Green is our English teacher. She is young and beautiful. She’s from England. She’s very nice. Mr. White is our Maths teacher. He’s from America. He’s short and fat.  His class is very funny. Miss Li is a Chinese. She’s our science teacher. She’s from Shanghai. She can sing many songs. We like them very much.
