After-school activities (活动) in New Sun Middle School.

I am in Beijing. It is Monday, November 6th. I really have a ________ day. At 8:00, I have science. I like science ________ it is interesting. Then at 9:00, I have math. I don’t like math. It’s ________ and boring. Next, at 10:00, I have history. It’s difficult, ________. At 11:00, I have music. That’s my favorite ________! Music is relaxing. I ________ my music teacher, Mr. Smith. He is great fun. I have lunch at 12:00. ________ lunch, I have P. E. at 13:00. I like P. E. because it is fun. Our teacher is very strict (严格的) and I’m usually very tired after class. My ________ class is at 16:00. After class, I play basketball ________ one hour. After that I have dinner at about 18:30. At about 20:00, I begin (开始) to do my homework, and then I ________. What a busy day I have!

There was a boy in India who was sent by his parents to a boarding school. Before being sent away this boy was the brightest student in his class. He used to be at the top in every competition.

But the boy changed after leaving home and attending the boarding school. His grades started dropping. He hated being in a group. He was lonely all the time. And there were especially dark times when he felt that no one loved him.

His parents started worrying about the boy. But even they did not know what was wrong with him. So his dad decided to travel to the boarding school and talk with him.

They sat on the bank of the lake near the school. The father started asking him casual questions about his classes, teachers and sports. After some time his dad said, “Do you know, son, why I am here today?”

The boy answered back, “To check my grades?”

“No, no,” his dad replied, “I am here to tell you that you are the most important person to me. I don’t care about grades. I care about your happiness. You are my life.” These words caused the boy’s eyes to fill with tears. He hugged his dad for a long time.

Now the boy had everything he wanted. He knew there was someone on this earth who cared for him deeply. Today this young man is at the top of his class and no one has ever seen him sad!

School Uniform Rules

Dear parents,

Some parents have asked about the rules about dress at Popular School. Please read and buy the right uniforms for your children this winter.

Children can be allowed to wear blue scarves or white scarves to school. But they aren’t allowed to wear hats.

The school uniform must be clean. Girls with long hair must tie (扎) their hair with yellow ribbons (丝带).

Children can only wear sports shoes to school if they have a P. E. lesson that day. They are allowed to wear white sports shoes only.
