Wang Lu is a nice Chinese girl. Today is her grandpa’s 78th birthday. She goes to a store with her parents in the morning and they buy some nice things for her grandpa.

Wang Lu buys two CDs of Beijing Opera (京剧) for her grandpa. She is sure (确信) that her grandpa will like them because he likes Beijing Opera very much. Wang Lu’s father buys a nice pair of sports shoes. He knows his father likes to do sports to be healthy. Wang Lu’s mother takes a book about history.

Wang Lu has lunch at her grandparents’ home. Her grandma cooks lunch for them. They have some vegetables and chicken for lunch. Then they have some fruit cake. The cake is from Wang Eu’s uncle and aunt. After lunch, Wang Lu plays games with her cousins. And her parents, uncle and aunt have a nice talk with her grandparents. She is very happy, because she has a good time.

Hi, my name is Zhao Le. I’m twelve. I’m a Chinese student in Guangming Middle School in Beijing. Mrs. Smith is my English teacher. She is an English woman. She has one English class every day. Oh, no! She has two English classes on Wednesday.

Mrs. Smith lives with her son and daughter now. Peter is her son. He is eleven. He likes sports and he can play soccer well. Sally is her daughter. She is eight. Peter and Sally are in my school. Peter is my classmate and good friend. After class, he always helps me with my English and I always help him with his Chinese. Sally likes Chinese food very much. Gongbao chicken is her favorite food, but she doesn’t like dumplings. She says she doesn’t know how to eat them!

Mrs. Smith’s home isn’t far (远) from mine. So I like to go to her home and play with Peter and his sister. We’re very happy.
