It is well-known that walking can bring a lot of benefits. 1． They have also found that going for a 15-minute walk after a meal can help lower blood sugar levels. Even just a few minutes of walking can be helpful.

A report was recently published in a magazine. 2． Researchers compared the influences of sitting with standing and walking on blood sugar. They found that just a few minutes of light walking after a meal was enough to improve blood sugar levels compared with sitting at the desk or lying on the sofa. When participants (参与者) went for a short walk, their blood sugar levels would fall gradually.

Standing also helps lower blood sugar levels. 3． That’s because light walking requires more active use of parts of the body than standing.

Although light walking at any time is good for our health, a short walk within 60 to 90 minutes after eating a meal can be especially useful in making blood sugar levels lower. 4． For people working at home, a short walk after lunch is suggested.

5． It’s a gradual effect (效果). Each step appears to have a benefit.

Why do some people look happier than others? The good news is that you may be one of them if you follow these habits of happy people from my book Find Your Happiness.

Make possible goals. Happy people are great goal makers. They work hard for their goals every day. Ask yourself if you are making possible goals and if you can reach them by working hard.

Don’t use the word “luck”. When you look at happy people, you may say, “They’re so lucky.” But in fact, the word”luck”is not in their dictionary. Instead, they believe that hard work and confidence (信心) bring great results.

Don’t try to win in an argument. Happy people are busy making their goals come true. They understand that spending time fighting with others takes them away from what they care about most. They love hearing people talk about their ideas, but they won’t spend time trying to force people to accept their ideas.

Try to look farther. Happy people don’t spend much time thinking about happiness. They live for now and enjoy their life. Happy people have difficulties, too, but they see them as chances to learn more and grow better.

Want to be a really happy person? Follow these habits and try to change yourself into what you wish to be like.

Imagine that you get into your car, tell your car where you want to go, and then let it take you there. This is called self-driving. In fact, the idea behind self-driving cars is very simple. A self-driving car is connected with a computer and the computer is connected with many cameras which can track all the objects close to the car and give the computer all the driving rules and routes (路线) . Then the car can take people to the place where they want to go.

A lot of people are interested in self-driving cars. Research shows that people can save time by using self-driving cars. Besides, self-driving cars can lower the cost of transportation. They can also reduce traffic accidents.

Some experts thought that there would be a lot of self-driving cars on the street in 2020, but in fact, there were only a few self-driving cars on the street in 2020. According to a survey of drivers in 2020, most drivers were cautious (谨慎的) about buying self-driving cars. As the technology is now under research and being improved, it is likely in the near future that we will see a lot of self-driving cars move safely on public roads among traditional cars. When the age of self-driving cars arrives, their cost, safety and convenience will make them become part of our daily lives. If companies that research self-driving cars plan ahead and solve the problems that they have now, they may succeed.

At times, learning English can be terrible, with so many new words to take in. We need to use special ways. Here are a few of our favorites:

You cannot expect to remember all the words after just one time. A better way is to make a list of all your new English words to review almost every day over the next week. This will help you turn the knowledge into your long-term memory. Jim Porter of Speekee (斯佩克的吉姆·波特), a scholar (学者), suggests keeping a vocabulary (词汇) diary as an easy way to keep remembering what you’re learning.

As you go on in your studies, you will notice that you are learning new words through the context (上下文). When reading, take notes of the words unknown to you and search for them in other texts to get a better idea of how to use the words. This will help make sure the words stay in your memory.

Create different pictures in your mind to fit different words. You can recall the word whenever you need to use the meaning. This skill is very useful to visual learners (视觉学习者).

Find songs easy to sing along with and get at least a few new words. This will both put the vocabulary into the context and provide a new way to remember vocabulary through sounds.

When we build a new house, we often buy something beautiful to decorate (装饰) it. The painting is always the 1． things we want to buy. People from all over the world 2． like western paintings. But as a Chinese, I think Chinese paintings are the best.
