The Smiths(史密斯一家人) live in a big house with a yard. Today is Sunday. It’s sunny and the birds are singing. There are many flowers in the yard. Mr Smith is planting flowers. Mrs Smith is reading books. Mary Smith and Billy Smith are playing with the dog. And Sam Smith is sleeping. They often have a party on Sundays. The Smiths are very happy today.

In China, Tree Planting Day is on March 12th. On that day, people can plant more trees. In different(不同的) countries, Tree Planting Days are on different days. Why do the people plant trees? Because trees can make the air clean. Animals and people can get food from them. Trees will make people healthy and make our country more beautiful. So, everyone, please try your best to plant more trees and protect them.

In Beijing, there are four seasons in a year. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. In spring, it’s warm. Trees turn green and there are beautiful flowers everywhere. In summer, it’s hot and the days are long. People usually go swimming in the sea. In autumn, it’s cool. Autumn is the time for harvest(收获) and the farmers are busy on the farm. Winter is the last season of the year, it’s cold. There is lots of snow.

Last week Bill went shopping with his aunt Mary. They went to the bank(银行) first and then they went to the supermarket. Aunt Mary bought some fruits. Bill wanted some coke and nuts, but there weren’t any. Aunt Mary bought some ice creams. She had one, but Bill had two ice creams. Bill was very happy.

Last Sunday was April 9th. The weather was cloudy. Mary was busy. She did her homework on that morning. She didn’t feel worried. Because the homework was so easy. Then she went shopping with her mother. They bought some food, apples and bananas. Her mother bought a new dress for her. She was very excited (兴奋的). In the afternoon, she visited her grandpa. He had a headache. He took medicine (药) and stayed in bed. She did housework for him. She cleaned his room, watered the flowers, washed his clothes and cooked supper. She was very tired, but she was very happy.

Tony likes sports very much. He plays sports after school every day. On Monday, he goes running with his friends for about an hour (小时). On Tuesday, he goes swimming in the swimming pool. On Wednesday, he plays football with his classmates. And on Thursday afternoon, he plays ping-pong with his father. On Friday, he plays basketball. Then he goes skating on Saturday. He calls Sunday “Holiday” because he does his favorite “sport”-sleeping. How happy he is on that day!

Hello, I’m Alice. I come from France. I live in Nanyang now. Last summer holiday I went to Sanya with my parents(父母亲). We went there by plane. It was very fast and comfortable(舒适的). Sanya is a very beautiful city. The people there were very kind. We went to the beach(海滩). We saw many people by the beach. They were very happy. We picked many beautiful shells(贝壳) on the beach. Then we swam in the sea. After that, we went boating and took many photos. We had a good time in Sanya. We love the city very much.

One day the famous American scientist Albert Einstein met an old friend of his on a street in New York. "Mr Einstein," said the friend, "it seems that you need a new coat. This one is too old! " " It doesn't matter," answered Einstein. "No one knows me here in New York."

A few years later, they met in New York again. Einstein had become a world famous physicist by then, but he still wore the same old coat. Again his friend tried to let him have a new coat. Einstein said with a smile, "There is no need now. Everybody here knows me."

Mr Brown looked out of his window. There was a boy in the street. He was eating a sandwich. There was a dog in the street, too. The boy said, “Come here, good dog. I’ll give you some.” The dog came up. The boy kicked (踢) the dog. The dog ran away.

Miss Brown came out of the house and said to the boy, “Come here. I’ll give you some money.” The boy was happy and ran up to Mr Brown. But Mr Brown didn’t give him any money. He kicked the boy. The boy cried and said, “Why do you kick me? I didn’t ask you for any money.” “The dog didn’t ask you for the sandwich.” Mr Brown said. “But you kicked it.”

John was very sad last weekend. He was ill. He had a fever. His mother asked him to stay in bed. He was very bored (无聊的). On Saturday afternoon, his good friends Sam and Mike came to see him. They bought a lot of fruit and some flowers for John. He was very happy.

This weekend, John will go hiking with his friends. They are going to fly kites, draw pictures and play football. Because John likes flying kites. Sam’s hobby is drawing pictures. And football is Mike’s favorite sport.
