In a small village, there is a teacher, a doctor, a driver and a policeman. The four men are good friends. What are their names? One is Tom, one is Jack, one is Mike and one is John. Mike’s, Jack’s and Tom’s children are classmates. John has no children. He teaches(教) his friends’ children in a school. Mike works at a police office. Jack has a car. He can drive well. The doctor’s house is next to the driver’s house, so the children often play together.

Once, there was a king(国王). He liked to write stories. He thought his stories were very good. He showed his stories to some people. These people didn’t like the stories, but they were afraid of the king. So they said, “The stories are good.” One day the king showed his stories to an old man. The old man said, “The stories are bad.” The king was very angry and put him into prison(监狱).

Spring Festival is our Chinese people’s festival. Before the day of the festival, people are very busy (忙于) of shopping and cleaning their houses. On the Eve (前夜), there is a big family dinner. There are many kinds of lucky food: dumplings, rice cakes, spring rolls and yuanxiao. After dinner, all the family stay up late (守夜) to welcome the new year. It is the middle of the night, we can watch many good TV programs (节目). On the first day of the New Year, people wear their new clothes to go to their friends’ houses. They say “Happy Spring Festival!” to each other. Children will get some lucky money from their parents or other people, so children like Spring Festival best.

My name is Jim. My favorite day is October 18th, because it’s my birthday. I am very happy on that day. I eat eggs for breakfast. Then my friends come to my home and play with me. We sing and dance. Someone plays the piano and someone plays the guitar. Lunch is very nice. After lunch, my parents take me to see a movie. My favorite movies are comedies and action movies. After supper, my parents, my sister and I watch TV. Then I go to bed at ten thirty. I don’t do my homework on that day. I am very tired but happy on my birthday.

Ann gets a piano from her parents on her birthday. She likes playing the piano. She plays the piano day and night. Her parents tell her: “Ann, we are happy that you like the piano, but you can’t play it all the time. There are other people in the apartment. They all want to sleep sometimes!” Ann listens to them. She says she understands.

Liu Zhixiao comes from Nanyang, Henan. He has a restaurant (饭馆) in Shanghai.

Because of COVID-19 (新冠肺炎), many doctors and nurses went to Shanghai to help. But some of them couldn’t eat well. Liu Zhixiao decided (决定) to cook for them.

So in the past (过去的) three months, Liu Zhixiao made hot rice for them every day. He was very busy. And he didn’t have time to take the food to the hospital. But many people helped him. The doctors and nurses could eat well, too. He was very tired, but he was very happy. He said, “I will do my best to help in fighting against (抗击) COVID-19.”

The Smiths are 1ooking at a map of China. They want to visit many places during their winter holiday. Mr Smith wants to visit Great Wall. He wants to climb the mountains. Mrs Smith wants to go to Shang hai. She wants to do some shopping. Ann is their daughter. She wants to go to Beijing Zoo. She wants to see the pandas. Sam is their son. He wants to go to Harbin. He wants to see the beautiful snow and he wants to skate and ski.

Summer holiday is my favorite holiday. Because there are many beautiful memories(记忆). My children and I visited Xi’an city last summer holiday, it was very happy. You can feel the long history of China. There are many interesting places. We visited the Old City Wall(古城墙)、the Big Wild Goose pagoda(大雁塔) and so on. Then we went to the Xiqing park. The park is very big and there are many places to play. We were tired, but we felt very happy.
