Do you know the differences(差异) between Chinese food and Western food? They are different in many ways. There are more vegetables in Chinese food and you can find much meat in Western food. The Chinese like to eat cooked vegetables but people in the West often don’t. The people in China like hot water but Western people often drink ice water. Chinese people like to use chopsticks(筷子) and Western people use knives(刀) and forks(叉).

Today is September 1. It's the first day of school. Lily wants to go back to school. She wants to meet her friends. She wants to meet her new teachers.

Lily gets up early in the morning. She washes her face and has breakfast. Then she rides her bike to school. She sees her friends on the playground. She plays hide­and­seek(捉迷藏) with them. In the classroom, Lily meets her new English teacher. Her name is Mrs. Green. Lily likes Mrs. Green. She can speak English very well. Lily thinks she is a nice teacher.

It’s 7:00 in the morning. It’s time for breakfast. Mum is cooking in the kitchen. Oh! Breakfast is ready. Zha Xi would like eggs and cereal. Zhuo Ma would like toast, jam and milk. Zha Xi’s brother would like an egg and some milk for breakfast.

I’m Ann. Today is Sunday. I don’t have any classes. It’s rainy and cool. The temperature is 21 degrees. I can’t go swimming. I get up at five thirty. My parents are sleeping. I want to cook breakfast for my parents. There is some food and vegetables in the fridge. My mother likes potatoes and my father likes eggs. I cook potatoes, eggs and milk for them. My parents get up at seven o’clock. I say to them, “Breakfast is ready!”

“Well done!” they say. My parents are very happy. How happy I am!

My name is Bob. I am a boy. I have a happy family. There are six people in my family. My father is a doctor. He works hard. My mother teaches at school. She likes her students. My sister, Sally, is a nurse. She works at the same hospital with our father. My grandparents live with us.

Let me show you my house! We have four bedrooms, one kitchen, one bathroom and one living room. Look! My mother and sister are cooking in the kitchen. My grandmother is watching TV in the living room. My grandfather is reading a book in a chair. Where is my father? He is washing his car. I'll go to help my father. Do you like my family?

It's six in the afternoon. It's time for supper. Jenny and Li Ming are hungry. Jenny's mother is cooking in the kitchen. Jenny and Li Ming are putting dishes and cups on the table. Soon supper is ready. Then they are having supper together (一起). Li Ming says, "Supper is delicious." They are all very happy.

Today is December 25^th Christmas Day. We are all at home. There is a big tree in the middle of the room. In the free there are colourful balloons and lights. It makes our house beautiful. My sister and I are happlly dancing around the tree. Then I find two nice boxes under the tree. The hristmas presents! We pick them up and open it. What a nice present! It’s a nice watch! That’s just what I want!

Mother and father are cooking in the kitchen. We run to the kitchen and give them a big hug with our hands. We all have a good time.
