Which season is your favourite season, spring, summer, autumn or winter? I like autumn best. Autumn is the time for harvest(收获). In autumn I can eat many different fruits; apples, pears, grapes and so on. I can also eat fresh vegetables. Autumn is cool. I feel comfortable(舒适的). I am happy to see the leaves turn red and yellow.

I like spring because it's warm. I get pink and white flowers. I get new leaves. The bees visit me. Ah, spring!

I like summer because it's hot. My apples get bigger and bigger. My leaves are greener and greener. People sit under me. Oh, summer!

I like autumn because it is cool. My apples become red. My leaves are orange and yellow. People come and pick my red apples. Wow, autumn!

I have no leaves or apples any more. But I like winter because of the white and clean snow. I can sleep and wait for spring. Zzzz, winter!

I like winter. There is ice and snow. I can skate and ski(滑雪). I can make snowmen, too. I put on my hat, scarf and winter jacket. Because it is cold outside. It snowed last night. It is all white outside and it's sunny today. Lucy and Lily get up early. They want to make a beautiful snowman. They work very hard. Lucy puts her hat on the snowman's head. Lily puts her scarf around the snowman's neck. After an hour, a beautiful snowman stands in front of their house. They feel tired but they are very excited. Then they go into the house and have lunch. After lunch, they write an email to their father and tell him about the snowman. Lucy says, “Let’s take a photo of the snowman and send it to our father.” “That’s a good idea!” answers Lily. But when they go out, they can't find the snowman. There's only the hat and the scarf!

I’m John. I like winter. It sometimes snows in winter. I can play in the snow. I can also play with snowballs. I can make snowmen with my friends. This winter holiday, I’m going to Harbin with my parents. I will see ice(冰) houses and ice trees. They are beautiful. I’m going to learn to skate on the ice. My father will teach me to skate.    There are four seasons in a year in China. March, April and May make the spring. June, July and August make the summer. September, October and November make the autumn. The rest (剩余部分) of the months make the winter.

The seasons in Australia are the opposite (相反的) of ours. When it’s spring in China, it is autumn in Australia. Australia is in the south of the earth. June, July and August are the winter months. December, January and February are the summer months. It’s very hot there, too.

Near the North Pole (北极) there are only two seasons. They’re winter and summer. In winter, the nights are long. For more than two months you can’t see the sun, even at noon. In summer, the days are long. For more than two months, the sun never sets (落下), and there are no nights.
