Jiamin is my good friend. I usually go to his home at the weekend. To get to Jiamin’s home, I often turn right of my house. Go straight ahead, there are three crossings. I should tum left at the second crossing. Then go straight again. When I get to a red tall building, I will stop. There are traffic lights. When the traffic light is green, I will cross the street. Jiamin’s home is near the traffic lights. It’s in the brown building opposite the red building. Because his home isn’t near my home, I sometimes go there by bus. I can take the No. 8 bus. It takes me about ten minutes to get there.

It’s Saturday morning. Mr Wang and his son Jack are going to a shopping centre to buy some food and drinks. They usually go there on foot. They turn left out of their house, then take the second right. They usually need eighteen minutes to get there. But today Jack takes his father a different way. He knows a short cut. They cross the main street and start to walk quickly through a big building. Suddenly they are in front of the shopping centre. His father looks at his watch and says, “Wow! I can’t believe it. It takes (花费) us only ten minutes to get to the shopping centre.”

“Don’t worry, Janet. I know a short cut,” says John. Then John takes her a different way. They walk through the garden and out of the front gate. Suddenly they are beside the cinema. Janet looks at her watch. “I can’t believe it. We have two minutes left. Thank you, John!”
