I am visiting Guangzhou for my holiday. I am going to stay here for two days. On the first day, I’m going to call my friend in Guangzhou. In the afternoon, I’l1 take the underground to Tianhe. I’ll do same shopping there. In the evening, my friend and I will have dinner together. Guangzhou has the most delicious food in China. My friend always tells me. After dinner, we will take a walk by the river. On the second day, my friend will drive me to Chimelong Water Park. I’m sure we will have fin there. In the afternoon, I’ll take a train back home.

There is a new park near my house. It’s a fine day today. My family and I are in the park now. On my left, there is a cafe. We can drink coffee in the cafe. On my right there is a big lake. There are many flowers and trees near the lake. There’s a small hill behind the lake. Near the lake, there is a sign. It says, “Don’t swim in the lake!” There is a playground in the middle of the park. There are some small shops in the park near the gate. The park is so beautiful. We like it very much.

Guangzhou has four seasons. Spring is a nice season in Guangzhou. The weather is warm and wet. Trees turn green. Flowers bloom (开花). In summer, the weather gets hot and sunny in Guangzhou. Lots of people go swimming in the evening. In Guangzhou, some flowers are in full bloom in autumn. People often go mountain climbing in autumn. In winter, the weather gets cold, but not very cold. It seldom snows in Guangzhou. Children in Guangzhou can’t have the fun of making snowmen or skiing.

The bus stops at a bus station. A mother and her child get on the bus and sit down. The conductor(售票员) comes to them for the tickets. The mother says, “One ticket to the Children’s Park.” The conductor looks at the small child, then says to him, “How old are you, little boy?”

The mother wants to speak, but the conductor stops her. The boy says, “Mother says I’m four years old at home and two on the bus.” All the other people laugh.

I am Chen Li. I live in Tianhe with my family. There are five people in my family. They are my grandparents(祖父母), my parents and me.

I usually go to school by bus. I can take Bus No. 243 or Bus No. 245. Sometimes my father drives me to school.

My father often goes to Beijing on business(出差). He goes thereby plane. He thinks travelling by plane is fast and comfortable(舒适的).

My mother works in a bank in Yuexiu. The bank is near an underground station. But there is no underground station near my home. So my mother needs to walk for 15minutes to get to an underground station. And then she takes the underground to her bank. She spends(花费) 35 minutes on the underground.

My grandparents like walking. They walk to the market, they walk to the park, and they walk home. They believe that walking is good for their health.

Keeping safe around strangers

A stranger is someone that you or your family do not know. Strangers can be nice and friendly. But some can be not. If you get lost, or feel unsafe and your grown-up is not near you, look for a safer stranger to talk to for help. Safer strangers are people who you can talk to and they will help you if you get lost. Safer strangers wear a uniform and a badge. You can tell the safer stranger your name and your parents’ telephone number. But never go anywhere with a stranger. Never get in a car with a stranger. If a stranger gives you a present or some sweets, say “NO” loudly. If the strangers want to take you home, say “No, I don’t know you.” and stay with your teacher or safer adult.

We move to a new house and we are going to have a house-warming party this Saturday. I’d like to invite you to the party. Sally, Kate, Lisa, Kim and George will come too. You are all my good friends.

Mum and Dad prepare many fruit and dimsum. For dinner, we are going to make dumplings together.

I have a big bedroom now and we can play games in it. We are going to sing songs after dinner. I think we will have a good time.
