Children may have many different hobbies. Now, let’s look at their hobbies.

There is a king. He likes writing stories, but his stories are not good. Because people are afraid of him, they all say his stories are good.

One day, the king shows his stories to a famous writer. He waits for the writer to praise these stories. But the writer says his stories are so bad that he should throw them into the bin(垃圾桶). The king gets very angry with him and sends him to prison(监狱).

After a month, the writer is free, Again the king shows him some of his new stories and asks what he thinks of them. After reading the stories, the writer at once turns to the soldiers(士兵) and says, “Take me back to prison, please.”

I have four good friends. They are Tim, Mike, Amy and Jenny. They have different hobbies. Guess! What are my friends’ hobbies?

One of them can sing very well. One likes making model planes. One is good at playing football and one likes riding a bike. Tim and Amy don’t like making model planes. Jenny and Amy don’t like singing. Mike and Jenny can’t ride a bike or play football. Tim isn’t good at singing or riding a bike.

Reading books is a good hobby. We can learn a lot from books. Books are our teachers and good friends. Reading can make us think clearly(清晰地).

Books are fun. There are different kinds of books. Some books are about cooking. Some books are about science, Some books are about films. From reading these books, we can see a new world.

There are a lot of books in a library. We can go there to read books or borrow(借) books. And we should protect(保护) the books. We can’t fold(折) them. We can use a bookmark.

A writer is a man or a woman who writes books for us. Popular writers of children’s books are Zheng Yuanjie and Qin Wenjun. Do you like them?
