Look at the blue Earth. This is our home. There are plains(平原), mountains, rivers,   lakes and oceans in our home. There are many kinds of trees, flowers, sand and grass in our home. There are many kinds of wild animals living together with us. But sometimes we do so many bad things to it. We waste too much water. We cut down too many trees. We hunt(捕猎) too many wild animals for food or clothes. We waste too many energy(能源). Too many cars use a lot of energy. We use too many plastic bags. We shouldn’t do these things. We should save our Earth, because we have only one Earth.

Do you often use plastic straws(塑料吸管)? You may use them to drink a lot of things, such as cola, juice or milk.

Most people throw their straws away after using them. Americans throw away 390 million plastic straws every day.

A lot of these straws go into the ocean. This is very bad for the ocean. Some animals eat them. They get sick. They can even die from this.

Some countries are trying to deal with this problem. The US and the UK both plan not to let people use plastic straws.

Water is very important to human beings. We cannot live without clean water, and neither can animals and plants. The water on the Earth was clean in the past, But now many rivers and lakes are polluted, and polluted water is harmful to all living things.

So what shall we do? We can do something.

Firstly, we must stop factories from pouring waste water into rivers.

Secondly, we should stop throwing rubbish into rivers. Many kinds of rubbish may pollute the environment.

Finally, we can tell people how important the water is.

By doing these things, I think water will become cleaner sooner or later.

Every day we make a lot of rubbish in the city. It’s not easy to get rid of (去除) the rubbish. We can burn it. But it usually makes a lot of smoke. It’s very bad for the air and our health. When the smoke goes up to the sky, it can make the rain dirty.

We can also put the rubbish under the ground. But it’s not a good method (方法), either. We have to find a place far away from the city. The rubbish under the ground can make the water and land dirty. It’s bad for our Earth.

To make a better Earth, we should make less (更少的) rubbish. We can recycle glass and paper. We can bring our own shopping bags and stop using plastic bags.

In the Noise Kingdom (王国), people liked making noise. They did everything loudly. Everyone was a noisy neighhour. The king’s birthday was near. He wanted to hear the loudest(最响亮的) noise in the world. So all the people must shout (喊) together at twelve o’clock on his birthday! Everyone wanted to hear the loudest noise in the world. A boy said, “Let’s just open our mouths and listen!” All the people heard about his idea.

At twelve o’clock on the king’s birthday, all the people just opened their mouths and listened. They heard the sounds of the birds and the river. The king said, “What nice sounds! I like that.” After that, the Noise Kingdom became quiet. People did everything quietly.

Many years ago, there was a family named Frankin. They lived in Boston, the US. There were five girls and six boys in the family. On a January day in 1706 another baby was born. The boy’s parents gave him a name—Benjamin. Benjamin was very cute. He could read when he was five and he could write when he was seven. When he was eight he went to school. He read his father’s books. He bought books with all his money. He liked books. He invented the paddles for swimming.

Some factories will do harm to our human beings’ life and the environment. They will pollute the air, and some will pollute the water. That is why we cannot see any fish in many rivers in the city. Some rivers have black colour and pungent (刺鼻的) smell. And usually the air around rivers is not so clean. What’s more, the polluted water will make people and animals sick. So the environment is very important to us. We should try our best to protect it.

As we all know, the environment around us is getting worse and worse. In many cities we can’t see fish swimming in the rivers or trees on the hills. Some people even have no clean water to drink. People will get sick without a good environment. So we must do something to protect ourselves and the environment.

But how to protect our environment? I think we can do some things like going to school on foot or by bike instead of by car. We had better use shopping baskets instead of plastic bags when we go shopping. We should use both sides of paper when we write. Don’t use paper cups. At our school dining hall, we can use our own bowls and chopsticks. We can reuse the water and save electricity.

In a word, if everyone pays more attention to our environment, there will be less pollution and our life will be better.

There is only one Earth. I hope everyone will protect our environment well.

One day, a monkey rides his bike near the river. Suddenly, he sees a lion under a tree. The lion runs to him. He is afraid and falls into the river. He can’t swim. He shouts. The rabbit hears him. He jumps into the river. The rabbit swims to the monkey, but he can’t help him. Luckily, an elephant comes along. He is very strong. He helps the rabbit and the monkey. They are very happy. They go to the elephant’s home. Then, they become good friends.
