Today was my first day in Guangzhou and I learned something interesting about the city and the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival is an important festival in China. It’s usually in January or February. During the Spring Festival, it is not very cold in Guangzhou. People usually wear coats, sweaters or jackets. People say that Guangzhou is a good place to have delicious foods. I can have chicken, soup, dimsum, dessert, roast goose, and so on. They are all delicious. There are also many interesting things to do in Guangzhou. I can go mountain climbing, see a flower show during the day. And in the evening, I can go on the Pearl River Cruise. Canton Tower is high and beautiful. I hope I can have a good time here.

Ann is an English lady. She is living in Guangzhou now. She has a new job in Zhujiang New Town(珠江新城).She works in a tall office building(办公大楼).From her office, she can see many beautiful places. At the weekend. She likes to have some fun. She wakes up early and goes running at Zhujiang Park. Then she enjoys morning tea with her friends. Dimsum is her favourite food. In the afternoon, Ann often does some reading in Guangzhou Library. Sometimes she goes to the cinema. In the evening she always talks about her days with her parents in England on the telephone. She feels very happy to live in Guangzhou.

I’m Linda. My hobby is collecting stamps. I have about nine hundred stamps. I like stamps because they are very beautiful and interesting. Every stamp is a nice picture and from it you can learn a lot. Some stamps are about Chinese Zodiac (生肖). They show us the traditional (传统的) art of China. Some stamps are about animals, there are beautiful fish, colourful birds and strong tigers and so on. And some stamps are about the great people, like Mao Zedong, Sun Yatsen. I like collecting stamps very much.

Amy has a good friend. Her name is Linda. She is from England. Amy and Linda study at the same class. They go to school together every day.

At the weekend, they stay at home and cook nice food. Linda likes Chinese foods. She likes noodles and dumplings very much. But Amy enjoys foods like sandwiches and chocolate. Sometimes they cook Chinese food. Sometimes they cook English food.

Today is their friend Janet’s birthday. So Amy and Linda want to cook both. They hope Janet will enjoy the Chinese food and the English food.

Today was my first day in Guangzhou, China. I live in a big flat with my family. I learned something interesting about this city. Let me tell you now. Guangzhou is big. There are many beautiful parks here. People take exercise in the parks. It’s spring now. The weather here is nice. It’s warm. The trees are green and the flowers are colorful. Guangzhou is called (被称为) “Flower City”. People usually take photos under trees or beside flowers. Guangzhou is also called “Food Capital” (美食之城). I can have many delicious foods here. I’m Andy. I have three sisters, Sue, Betty and Cathy. They like different things. Sue is tall. She likes singing, she often sings for us. And her favourite season is winter (冬天). Betty is not tall and not short. She likes to dance. She can dance very well. Summer is her favourite season, because she can wear beautiful dresses. Cathy is thin. She loves collecting stamps and she has morn than 200 stamps! She loves spring. She grows flowers in spring.

I am Ben. I have a good friend. He is Mike. We like playing models very much. We often talk about it together. We often play models at the weekend. We have more than 60 models.

I like watching TV and playing sports. I often run, play basketball or football at school. So I am tall and strong. But Mike doesn’t like sports. He seldom plays sports. So he is fat （胖的） and short. He likes playing music and drawing pictures. He is good at them. But he can’t do well in sports. I hope he can play sports with me.
