Water is very important to people. We must drink water every day. We can’t live without water.

At home, we use water to wash clothes, to wash dishes, to cook meals, to clean the floor, to brush our teeth, to have a bath and so on.

At work, people use water to put out fires(灭火), to grow vegetables, to make things in factories and so on. We also can swim on the earth. Water is important to us, isn’t it?

However, there isn’t much water on the earth. It is very valuable(贵重的). We must save it. And please remember a date, March 22nd, it’s World Water Day.

Trees are very important. They are the homes of many birds and animals. They give us food, for example fruit and nuts. People make different things from trees, for example paper.

How do you find out the age of a tree? Every year a little and new ring grows round the trunk(树干) of the tree. When you cut down the tree, you can count the number of rings in the trunk to tell the age of the tree. In 1964, a worker cut down a tree and counted 4,900 rings inside the tree.

Today the tallest tree in the world is a redwood tree in the U.S.A. It is 112 meters tall. It can live a very long life. Some redwood trees are 2,000 years old.

We have only one earth and we should protect it. Please keep streets clean and tidy. Don't litter. When we see rubbish, we should pick it up and put it into a trashcan. In autumn, the leaves turn yellow and fall down everywhere. We can sweep the leaves and put them into trashcans, too.

This is our earth. The green part is land. The blue part is sea. The white part is clouds. Our earth is very beautiful. About 71% of our earth is covered by water. But only about 0.77% of the water can drink. Many years ago, the earth was very clean. But nowadays, there is much pollution on the earth. People are polluting the land, the water and the air. People must stop doing that. We must protect the earth.

Our environment is becoming worse and worse. What can we do for the environment? I think each of us can do a little to help.

The first thing we can do is to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags when we go shopping. I help to protect the environment. The second thing we can do is to reuse old textbooks. Then we should also never forget to turn off lights when we leave rooms in order to save energy. What's more, it would be better if we walk or ride a bike to school. And we can use both sides of paper when we write. We should try our best to reduce pollution and waste.

The park

There is a new park near my house. It’s a fine day today. My family and I are in the park now. On my left, there is a cafe. On my right, there is a big lake. There are many flowers and trees near the lake. There’s a small hill behind the lake. Near the lake, there is a sign. It says, “Don’t swim in the lake!” There is a playground in the middle of the park. There are some small shops near the gate. The park is so beautiful. We like it very much.
