Mike loves to travel. He travels twice a year. Last winter holiday, he flew to Hangzhou with his friends. The air in Hangzhou was clean. They stayed there for three days. On the first day, they went to the West Lake. It was a beautiful lake. They went boating and took photos there. On the second day, they went shopping. Mike bought a wallet for his father and a scarf for his mother. On the last day, they went to Taiziwan Park. They took a walk and drank Longjing Tea there. They were excited in Hangzhou.

One day, I went to the shopping centre by bus. When the bus stopped at the bookshop stop, a mother and her child got on the bus and sat down. The conductor (售票员) came to them for the tickets. The mother said, “One ticket to Chuxiu Park.” The conductor looked at the small child, then the conductor asked him, “How old are you, little boy?” The mother wanted to speak, but the conductor stopped her. The boy said, “Mother says I’m seven years old at home and four on the bus.” All the other people laughed.

Once there was a king. He liked to write stories. He thought his stories were good, so he like to show them to people. As people were afraid of him, they all said his stories were very good. One day, the king showed some of his best stories to a famous writer. He wanted the writer to praise (赞美) these stories. But the writer said his stories were so bad that he should throw them into the fire. The king got very angry and sent him to prison (监狱). After some time, the king set him free and ordered him to come to his palace (宫殿). Again he showed some of his new Stories and asked what he thought of them. After reading them, the writer at once turned to the soldiers and said, "Take me back to the prison. "

Once an old man went to see a doctor. The doctor looked him over carefully and said, "Medicine won’t help you. You must have a good rest. Go to bed early, drink milk, walk a lot and smoke one cigar (雪茄烟) a day. Go to the country place for a month. "

After a month the man came to the doctor again. "How are you?" said the doctor, "I’m glad to see you again. You look much younger. ""Oh! Doctor, I feel quite well now. " said the man. "I had a good rest. I went to bed early, drank a lot of milk and walked a lot. Your advice (建议) certainly help me, but you told me to smoke one cigar a day almost killed me first. It’s no joke to start smoking at my age!"

Peter, Ann, Mary and their parents went to the countryside for their summer holiday. That was a beautiful place. They lived in a farmer’s house. The farmer was Mr Black.

In the morning, they went for a walk in a forest. They saw a river. The father wanted to swim in it. So he jumped into the river. After some time, he came out. He said there were a lot of fish in it. In the afternoon, Peter and Mary went fishing by the river. Two hours later they caught ten fish. In the evening, Ann cooked the fish and some other delicious food for dinner. They ate a lot. They were very happy.

   I'm Tim. My grandparents live on a farm. I visited them with my parents last weekend. I saw many ducks, hens, pigs and cows. I helped my grandpa plant trees. I watered the flowers and trees. My grandma cooked the meals. The food was delicious. I was tired, but I was happy. We had a good time!

Last summer holiday, Mary went to Xi’an with her family. They went there by plane and stayed there for three days. On the first day, they went to Tang Paradise(大唐芙蓉园). The next day, they visited Shaanxi History Museum(陕西历史博物馆) and Huaqing Pool(华清池). The last day, they went to visit the Bell Tower. And they also went to Kaiyuan Shopping Mal(开元商城). Then they ate some delicious food. After that, they bought some gifts for their friends, too. They had a great time in Xi’an. They went back home by train.
