Yesterday was the second Sunday in May. Li Shan got up early in the morning. She made the bed by herself and made breakfast for her mother. Her mother was so happy when she saw the bread, salad and milk on the table. After the meal, Li Shan did the dishes and cleaned the rooms. Then she wanted to go shopping. She said to her mother, “Happy 'Mother's Day, Mom! What would you like? I will buy a gift for you.” “Nothing, dear. You gave me the best gift just now.”

Lisa's weekend was so great. She worked as a guide at the nature museum. There was a butterfly (蝴蝶) house with over 200 kinds of butterflies in it. How interesting! She told the visitors about their living habits (生活习惯). But she was a little tired because she stayed up late to watch the football game last night.

Hello, I'm John. It's Monday today. I was busy last weekend. I didn't go to school on the weekend. And my parents didn't go to work. We all stayed at home. I cleaned the rooms and watered the plants. I did my homework and played basketball. My mother cooked the meals, washed the clothes and went to the shop. My father washed his car and saw his friends. We watched an interesting TV show last night.

Mr. King lived in a small town, but he has a job in a big city, so he moved there with his wife and his children last Tuesday.

On that day Mr. King took his new car out of the garage(车床) and washed it. A neighbour(邻居) came and looked at the new car for a minute. Then Mr. King turned and saw him.

“That's a new car. Is it yours?” The neighbour asked.

“Sometimes,” Mr. King answered.

The neighbour was surprised. “Sometimes?” he said. “What do you mean?”

“Well,”answered Mr. King slowly, “When there's a party in town, it's my daughter's. When there's a football game, it belongs to(属于) my son. When I wash it and it looks very nice and clean, it belongs to my wife. And when it needs gas(汽油), it's mine. ”

Mr. Jones and Mr. Brown work in the same office. One day Mr Jones said to Mr Brown, "I will have a small party at our house on Monday evening. Would you and your wife(夫人) like to come?" Mr. Brown, said, "Thank you very much. I'd love to, but let me ask my wife first." So Mr. Brown went to the other room and called his wife. Then he came back and looked very worried(焦虑). "What's the matter?" asked Mr. Jones. " Is your wife there at home?"

"No, " answered Mr. Brown, -"She isn't there. My small son answered the telephone. I said to him 'Is your mother there，David?' and he answered. 'No, she isn't in the house.' 'Where's she?' I asked, 'She is somewhere (某处)outside.' 'What's she doing?' 'She is looking for me.'"

   Yesterday was Saturday. Mary got up at seven o’clock. But it was rainy and she couldn’t go out to play. She helped her mother make a cake. After that she was hungry. She ate the cake with her mother. That’s delicious. She was very thirsty. So she drank some water. Then the rain stopped. Mary went out to play. She was very happy.
