Amy went to a summer camp

When Amy was 11 years old, she went abroad for the first time. She went to a summer camp in Leeds, the UK.

She flew from Guangzhou to London with three pupils and a teacher from her school. The flight(航程) was 14 hours long. She played cards with her friends, saw a film and read a book.

Then she went to sleep. Amy and her friends left Guangzhou in the morning and arrived in London in the afternoon. There they took a coach(长途巴士) to Leeds. It was a six-hour trip.

There are 48 children from 12 different countries in the camp. For the first two days Amy missed her family very much. Soon she made some friends and started to enjoy the camp. The children stayed at the camp all the time. Every day they played different games. In one of the games Amy played a disabled(残疾的) person and she had to walk with only one leg for a day! She got to know what a hard life a disabled person lived. She will never forget that day. Amy made friends with most of the children and learned quite a lot about other countries. When it was time to say goodbye, she didn’t want to leave the camp.

My Day

Tom likes birds very much. He often 1． books about birds and dreams to have a bird one day. Last month, his grandfather 2． one for him. The bird was very beautiful and Tom was so excited. Every day he fed (喂) her. But the bird looked 3．. She never sang songs.

Yesterday, Tom went to the nature 4． with his parents. There 5． lots of birds in the park. They sang and danced 6． the tree. They all looked active. Tom followed, watched and thought.

After a long time, 7． said, “Mum, I was wrong. I didn’t think of my bird’s feelings. She doesn’t like living in the cage (笼子). She likes to stay 8． her friends. I am going to take my bird here 9．. I will let her go. I want her to become 10． than before!”

We have different feelings at different time. Sometimes we’re happy. Sometimes we’re sad. Sometimes we’re excited and sometimes we’re mad (气愤的). We have different feelings and that is how life is. When (在……时候) we’re sad, we can think about happy time. When we’re worried, we can talk about it with parents or teachers. When we’re angry, we can listen to music or do some sports. When we’re bored (无聊的), we can play with friends or read books. We have different feelings and that is how life is. We can do different things to share (分享) and face the feelings.

Zob is very busy. On Mondays he goes to school on Earth(地球). On Tuesdays he does his homework. On Wednesdays he plays sports. On Thursdays he helps his mum. On Fridays he helps his dad. But at the weekend there is nothing to do(无事可做). What do Billy and Lily do at the weekend? Zob wants to know. Lily says, “I often dance on Saturdays.” Billy says, “I play the piano on Sundays. “But what can I do?” says Zob. “You can collect(收集) basketball cards,” says Billy. “You can collect toys,” says Lily. But Zob doesn’t want to collect them. At last(最后), Zob has a good idea(主意). “I can collect space junk(太空垃圾)!” says Zob.
