A Wonderful Party

Aunt Judy’s birthday is coming. She will be 38 years old. Dad and Mum are going to take me to her house. She lives in Guangzhou. We are going to go there by train. Her birthday party will be on Saturday. We are leaving on Friday afternoon. And we are coming back on Sunday evening. I am going to give my dear Aunt Judy a picture. I am drawing it now. I am drawing some beautiful flowers. I am drawing a small dog, too. That’s because she likes dogs. The picture will be very nice.

It’s Children’s Day this Saturday. The children are going to have a party at Mike’s house. Su Hai is going to buy some snacks and drinks. Wang Bing is going to bring some fruit from home. Yang Ling is going to bring some toys and play with her friends at the party. Liu Tao is going to buy some balloons for the party. They are going to be happy.

I’m going to get up at eight. Then I am going to brush my teeth at eight ten. I usually have my breakfast at seven thirty. But, on Children’s Day, I am going to have breakfast at eight thirty. Mum is going to buy a lot of things for me on Children’s Day. Tds and I all like playing with yo-yos. So, we’re going to play with yo-yos at ten thirty-five. After lunch, about one in the afternoon, we are going to play a lot of interesting games. We all love games. At seven twenty in the evening, I’m going to watch some cartoons. At last, I am going to write my diary at nine.

There are different kinds of parties in America, such as birthday parties, house-warming parties, farewell parties, masked balls, and holiday parties. If you plan to take part in a friend’s party, it is important for you to know some party customs （习俗）.

People wear different clothes for different parties. For ordinary （普通的） parties, men wear western style clothes, and women wear good suits or dresses. Wearing jeans isn’t polite （有礼貌的）. For some special parties, you need to wear special clothes.

Bringing gifts is always welcome. You can bring some gifts, such as flowers or a bottle of wine.

Time is very important to Americans. You must arrive at parties on time. If you can’t come on time, you should call the host or hostess and tell them what time you will arrive.

It’s not good manners to leave a spoon in a soup bowl or a coffee cup or any plate. You should not burp （打嗝） at table. Don’t pick your teeth. Food should be put into your mouth as quietly as possible, and the food should be eaten with the mouth closed.

It is May Day next Saturday, and it is also my brother Tim’s birthday. In the morning, we are going to have a party at home. His friends are going to give presents to him. We are going to play some interesting games. Tim likes riding a bike. Our parents are going to give him a new bike. After lunch, we are going to a zoo. There is an animal show. We all love animals. I think we are going to have a lot of fun on that day.

May 4th was my birthday. I had a party at my home. My relatives and friends came to my home in the evening. And I got a lot of presents from them. My mother prepared a big birthday cake for me. There are eleven candles on it. After singing the song “Happy birthday”, I shared the cake with my friend and relatives. Then we watched TV and listened to music. Some of the girls danced with the music. We had a good time that day. Now I want to say “Thank you my friends. Thank you my parents! I ’m so happy!”
