I’m Li Fang. Here are the photos of my family. This is my grandmother. She was a singer. So she wore beautiful clothes. My grandfather was a doctor. And my father and my mother are teachers. They teach in different schools. My father teaches Chinese. And my mother teaches English. Now, my grandmother is learning English. My mother teaches her. She is a good student.

Today is Susan's birthday. She is nine years old. Her family are at home now. There is a birthday party in the evening. Look! Her father is listening to the music. And her little brother Tom is drinking orange juice. Her grandparents are watching TV. Her mother is making a birthday cake. What’s Susan doing? Oh, she’s playing with her friends. She’s got lots of presents from her family and friends. They are very happy today!

My grandparents are old. They told me their life was different many years ago. They lived in a small house in a village. They worked in the fields all day long. They cooked on a fire. They didn't have a television, a radio, or a telephone. They didn’t have enough nice food to eat. There weren't any supermarkets. There weren't many cars or buses then.

There are two pictures about our city. Look! There was a small park many years ago, but now there is a big and beautiful park. And in the park, there is a lake with some ducks on it. There wasn’t a lake in the past. In our city there were many old houses and small trees. But now there are many new tall buildings. The trees are very tall now. There are many supermarkets and cars now. I love my city.

Yesterday was Sunday. Wang Hai was free （空闲的）. He got up at half past six. At 9, he visited his grandparents. Then, he played basketball with his friends at 2 in the afternoon. At half past three, he watched a football match. At half past six, he had supper （晚饭） with his parents at a restaurant （参观）. What a good day!

Last week Mary went to London. She didn’t know London very well, and she lost her way. Suddenly, she saw a man near a bus stop. “I can ask him the way,” she said to herself. “Excuse me,” she said. “Can you tell me the way to King Street, please?” The man smiled pleasantly. He was a tourist. Then he put his hand into his pocket, and took out a phrasebook（短语手册）. He opened the book and found a phrase. He read the phrase slowly. “I am sorry,” he said,  “I do not speak English.”

Mr Brown lived in a small town before, but he works in a big city now. So he moved there with his wife and two children three years ago.

One day, Mr Brown took his car out and washed it. When a friend came,the friend stopped and looked at the car for a minute. Then Mr Brown stopped and looked at him. The friend said, “That’s a nice car. Is it yours?” “Sometimes,” Mr Brown answered. The friend was surprised. “Sometimes?” he said. “What do you mean? ” Mr Brown answered slowly, “Well, when there’s a party in the town, my daughter, Jean drives it. When there’s a football game, it’s my son Joe’s turn. When I have washed it and it looks really nice and clean,my wife Linda use it. And when it needs cleaning, it’s mine.”

Hi, I'm Peter. Ten years ago I lived in a small village. There weren't many trains or cars. There weren't many shops or restaurants. I lived in a small house. My father worked in the fields. We didn't have a television or a telephone in our house.

Now there are lots of cars in the streets. There are some big supermarkets. I live in a big house. My father works in a factory. We have a television. I often watch television programme about football. How about you?
