The stars we see at night are really huge like our sun, but they are much farther away in space. Some of them have planets(行星)like our earth travelling around them.

The stars are so hot that they give off great light and heat--more than the hottest, brightest fire you can imagine(想象). As we all know, light travels at the speed of 300, 000 kilometres per second. But the stars are so far away that their lights still take years to reach us. The light we see coming from some far-off stars started for the earth more than a hundred years ago.

The whole journey(旅程)of the moon round the earth takes twenty-eight days. We see it changing from new moon to half to full and back to new moon every twenty-eight days. Our word "month" comes from the word "moon".

Helen has four brothers and sisters. They are Jenny, Peter, Bill and Anna. Helen is the oldest of them. Jenny is thirteen years old. She is two years younger than Helen, and one year older than Peter. Bill is nine and Anna is seven years old. Jenny and Peter are good runners. But Peter can run faster. Helen and Anna like to play basketball after school. Helen plays better than Anna. Bill is the best singer of the five. Helen and Betty study in a middle school. Tim works in a small shop. It is near a factory. Every day many workers, old ladies and housewives come to the buy things. He lives not very far from the shop. The sign in the middle means "You must not talk in the library." And the sign on the right says "Never eat or drink in the library." So she talked to the spaceboy quietly, "Let's go out. I am not happy here." They went out to the Supergarden. But they also saw some signs in the garden. One of the signs means "Don't climb the trees." Spaceboy was not happy because he liked climbing the trees. "We don't like rules, but we can go nowhere because there are rules round us."
