Every kind of animal has their own (自己的) way to live well in winter. In winter, the weather gets cold. There is snow on the ground.

Some animals sleep all the winter. ‘These animals eat lots of food in autumn. In winter, they don’t eat anything (任何东西). Many birds can’t find food in winter, so they fly from the north to the south in autumn. They go to a warm place to find food. Then fly back the next spring. Some animals collect enough food in autumn. In winter, they just stay at home and eat the food they collect in autumn. Many animals live in the trees or under the ground because it’s cold outside (外面的).

Winter is cold in many countries, but these clever animals can spend (度过) it safely.

John is a pupil. He’s an American, but he loves China very much. Now he is in Beijing, and he lives near the school. He often walks to school. Sometimes he rides his bike. There is an animal name for each Chinese year. We may call it the Year of the Horse, the Year of the Monkey or the Year of the Pig…Before Lunar New Year's Day, people buy a lot of delicious food and clean their houses. On New Year's Eve (前夜）, there is a big family dinner. They usually (通常) eat dumplings. After dinner, all the families stay up (熬夜) to welcome the New Year. On the first day of the New Year, people put on (穿上)their new clothes and visit their friends. They say “Happy New Year!” to each other.

There are many rules in my family. I am not happy because they are boring. First, I should get up early because I have to go to school. Next, I shouldn't watch TV on school nights. On the weekend, I should do my homework, and then help my mum to do housework. In the evening, I can't go out to play with my friends. I should go to bed early. My parents think that the rules are good for my study. They don't know I'm interested in running, playing basketball and writing. I don't want to follow (遵守) the rules.
