My best friend is Tom. He is a ten years old boy. He was born(出生) in London, but now he lives in China. Tom has got two big eyes. He can speak Chinese and English. He likes playing football, watching TV and listening to music, but he doesn’t like swimming. Why? Because he is afraid (害怕)of water. What an interesting boy!

Lily is a new student in this school. Her friend tells her the school rules.

You can run on the playground. Don’t run in the classroom. You can read books in the library. Don’t talk in the library. You should listen to the teachers in class. Don’t sleep in class. You can answer the teachers’ questions. Don’t talk to each other. School starts at eight o'clock in the morning and finishes at four o'clock in the afternoon. Don’t be late for school. You can have lunch at school. Don’t eat in class.

Lily knows the rules now. And she will be a good student.

Many students in the US always take the school bus to school every day. And there are many rules.

◆Arrive(到达) at the bus station early.

◆Wait for the bus at the bus station.

◆Don't play around the bus station.

◆Don't run here and there at the bus station.

◆Don't get off the bus if it doesn't stop.

These rules are good for students. Remember them and don't break(破坏) them. Then you can keep yourself safe.

There is a park near my home. People like to go to this park after work. Some of them go in the park every day. Look! That is Mr. King. He is sitting on a chair and watching the children. Some children are playing a game. Some boys are playing football. Lucy and Lily are standing under a big tree. They are talking about their favorite movies. There is a small river in the park. We can see some boats on the water. Some children are sitting in the boats with their parents. Listen! A girl is singing. This is really a nice park. I come here after school every day.

I’m Jim. There are many rules at my school and my home.

Penny's sister bought a pair of shoes in the US last month. Penny liked them very much. She wanted a pair of shoes like them. So she took her sister's shoes to a shoe shop.

Now she is in the shoe shop. She is showing the shop assistant her sister's shoes. She says she wants black shoes of size five. But the shop assistant says they don't have any ones because they are not in fashion now. Those shoes were in fashion last year and the year before last. The shop asistant shows Penmy some fashionable shoes. Penmy doesn't like them because she thinks they look very uncomfortable. The shop assistant tells her that women always wear uncomfortable shoes.

   I'm Tom. I am a pupil. I was late for school this morning. It was 8:15 when I got up this morning. I quickly ran out and got on my bike. I rode very fast. When I reached a crossing, the traffic lights were red, but 1 didn't stop my bike. A policeman stopped me, and asked me why I didn't stop. I told him I was late. He told me, “You should stop when the traffic lights are red and you can cross when the traffic lights are green. There are a lot of cars on the road. It's dangerous.” And then he let me go. Safety(安全) is important. We must obey (遵守) the traffic rules at any time.

Traffic safety is everybody's business. So when you cross the road, you must look first, then cross the road. When the light is red, you must stop. And when the light is green, you can go. Sometimes the traffic rules are different in different countries. In China, you must walk or drive on the right. But in England, you must walk or drive on the left.
