The Spring Festival is one of the most important festivals in China. We all like it. Before the festival, people usually clean the house, buy meat, vegetables, fruit and couplets (对联).On the eve of it, we make dumplings and watch CCTV New Year’s Gala on TV. At midnight, people set off fireworks or lanterns in the sky. On the first morning of the Spring Festival, people often get up early and give best wishes to others. Children often get lucky money from their grandparents during the Spring Festival. They are all very happy.

In some places people eat Double Ninth Cake at this festival.

At the Double Ninth Festival this year, Xiaoyong visited his grandparents. He made a card for them. He also chatted(聊天) with his grandparents. They were all very happy.

The Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It is after the Sping Festival. The special food for Lantern Festival is yuanxiao. People hang lanterns. There are many different shapes of lanterns. And there are also some riddles on the lanterns. People try hard to solve the riddles. At the Lantern Festival, people go outside to have a look at the lanterns and enjoy the dragon dances. Everything is very interesting and everyone is very happy.

The Spring Festival is the most important festival to the Chinese people. It’s a traditional(传统的) festival in China. It’s in January or February. Before the Spring Festival, people often clean their houses, buy new clothes, paste couplets(贴春联) and hang lanterns. During the Spring Festival, people put on their new clothes and visit their relatives(亲戚) and friends. They get together and have a special family dinner. They eat delicious dumplings. After dinner, they watch TV together. The children are very happy. They can play the fireworks(烟花) and get the lucky money(压岁钱).

There are many festivals in China. The Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival and so on (等等). I like them very much. In the Spring Festival, we always have a big family dinner, we eat special dumplings. In the Lantern Festival, we can see lots of lanterns, and sometimes there are beautiful fireworks (焰火).The Dragon Boat Festival is also my favourite. Because I can see the Dragon Boat race. Now, can you guess why I like the Mid-Autumn Festival? Because I can eat moon cakes, They are very delicious.

When beautiful autumn comes, it’s time for the Chinese Chongyang Festival or Double Ninth Festival. This is a day for Chinese to show care and love the old people. We climb the mountains, eat rice cakes, drink the chrysanthemum (菊花) drinks, and wear the zhuyu plant. Today, it’s a good time to enjoy the beautiful autumn with your friends and family.

The Spring Festival is Chinese New Year. There is a name for every Chinese year. We may call it the Year of the Horse, the Year of the Monkey or the Year of the Pig… Before New Year's Day, people go shopping and clean their houses. On New Year's Eve, there is a big family dinner. They usually eat dumplings. After dinner, all the families stay up to welcome the New Year. On the first day of the New Year, people put on their new clothes and visit their friends. They say “Happy New Year!” to each other.

The Spring Festival is the Chinese New Year. It’s usually in February. Sometimes it’s in January. It’s my favourite festival. Before it, we clean our house and buy flowers. On the first day of the Spring Festival, I wear new clothes. We visit our relatives (亲戚) and friends. We say “Happy Spring Festival” to each other. I can get lucky money from my parents. We always have a big family dinner at the Spring Festival. We eat dumplings. Dumplings are our favourite food. And we have peanuts and sweets. I think it’s very interesting.
