I got a postcard from China on my birthday. It is very beautiful. The postcard is about the Great Wall. It’s from my pen friend Daming. The Great Wall is very famous in the world. When I was five years old，I went to China with my parents and I visited the Great Wall. Now I think it is more beautiful than before. The Great Wall is more than twenty thousand kilometres long. People from all over the world go to China to visit it. I want to visit the Great Wall again.

Chinese school is different from English school. In China, school starts at 8 o'clock and finishes at 4 o'clock. In the UK, school starts at 9 o'clock and finishes at half past three. In China, students sit in lines and they do morning exercises every day. In the UK, students often sit around tables and they sing songs together every morning. But both students in China and in the UK can have fun at break time. And they do homework every day.

I’m Tom. I’m an American boy. I’m twelve. I have got a Chinese pen friend. His name is Li Yang. I have got some postcards from Li Yang. I know there are lots of beautiful places in China. The Changjiang River is the longest river in China. The West Lake is in Hangzhou. The Huangshan Mountain is in Anhui. China is very beautiful. I want to visit it next year.

I hope you like this photo. On it you can see a nature park, it's a famous place in this town. Lots of people come here on weekends, they go for a walk, play games, take photos of the beautiful flowers and green plants. There is a big lake in the park, some people row boats on the lake, sometimes I can see some ducks swimming there. There is a white bridge over the lake, it's one hundred metres long and fifty years old. I like standing on the bridge and looking at the ducks.

This is Jim's bedroom. It's new and nice. There is a bed and a chair in it. There is a desk on the floor. There are some flowers on it. There is a bookshelf (书架) behind the bed. Some English books are on the bookshelf. There is a picture on the wall. Some people are in the picture. The man is his father. The woman is his mother. Who is the boy? Do you know?

 One day, Mr White came home very late. He looked for the key to the door, but can’t find it. He lost his key. He rang the bell, but nothing happened. He did it again. Nobody moved inside the room. Mr White knocked at the bedroom window, he spoke to his wife, he shouted, but she didn’t wake up. At last he stopped and thought for a moment. Then he began to speak like a small child. He said, “Mother, I want to go to the toilet.” He spoke quite quietly , but at once Mrs White woke up. Then he spoke to her, and she opened the door for him.

Mr. Jones and Mr. Brown work in the same office （办公室）. One day Mr. Jones says to Mr. Brown, “I will have a small party at my house on Monday evening. Would you and your wife like to come?”

Mr. Brown says, “Thank you very much. I’d love to, but let me ask my wife first.” So Mr. Brown goes to the other room and telephones his wife. Then he comes back looking very worried.

 “What’s the matter?” asks Mr. Jones. “Is your wife at home?”

“No,” answers Mr. Brown. “She isn’t there. My small son answered the telephone. I said to him, ‘Is your mother there, David?’ and he answered ‘No, she isn’t in the house.’ ‘Where is she?’ I asked, ‘She is somewhere outside’（在外面）. “What’s she doing? ‘She is looking for me.’”
