I’m Jack. I’m an English boy. I’m a pupil. I have a friend in China. His name is Xiaoming. Yesterday I got some postcards from him. From the postcards, I know there are lots of beautiful places (地方) in China. Look! This is the Changjiang River. It’s the longest river in China. It’s more than 6, 000 kilometres long. This is the West Lake. It’s in Hangzhou. And this is the Huangshan Mountain. It’s in Anhui and it’s very famous. The last one is a picture of the Great Wall. It’s more than twenty thousand kilometres long. I like this one best. China is so beautiful that I want to visit it some day.

There is a very famous wall in China. It’s more than 20000 kilometres long. It’s very old and very strong. It’s more than 2000 years old. It’s in the north of China. Many people from different countries come to visit it every year. What a wonderful building! I’m very proud of it.

Jim is an English boy. He comes to China with his father and mother. They come here to work. Jim comes here to study. He is in No. 5 Middle School. He gets up early every day. He isn’t late for school. He studies hard. He can read English well. He often helps us with our English, and we often help him with his Chinese. After class he likes playing football, swimming, running, jumping and riding. He makes many friends here. We are glad to stay with him. On Sunday he often helps his mother clean the house, mend something or do the shopping. He likes Chinese food very much. He likes living here. He likes Chinese students very much. We all like him, too.

China is a big country. There are lots of beautiful cities in China. Beijing is a very old city. It's the capital of China. There are many beautiful old buildings in Beijing, such as the Palace Museum and the Summer Palace. Shanghai is an exciting city. It's in the east of China.   Hong Kong is in the south of China. Many tourists(游客)like to visit Hong Kong for shopping.

   China is a big country. There are lots of things to see. From east to west，you can see many long rivers and high mountains. There are also many big lakes. In winter it is warm in the south. But it is cold in the north. You can play with snow in the north and you can go swimming in the south. Beijing is the capital (首都) of China. You can visit the Great Wall there. It's about twenty thousand kilometres long. People here are very friendly (友好的). Do you want to visit China?

Mike is traveling around the country in his car. One evening he is driving along a road and looking for a small hotel. Then he sees an old man at the side of the road. He stops his car and says to the old man, "I want to go to the Sun Hotel. Do you know it?"

"Yes," the old man says. "I will show you the way. "He gets into Mike's car, and they drive off. They drive for about twelve miles. When they come to a small house, the old man says, "Stop here. "Mike stops and looks at the house. "But this isn't a hotel. "he says to the old man. "No," the old man answers. "This is my house. And now I'll show you the way to the Sun Hotel. Turn around and go back nine miles. Then you will see the hotel on the left."

It is a fine Sunday morning. Ann and her mother are on a big bus. There are many people on the bus. Some of them are from America, and some of them are from England and Japan. They are going to visit the Great Wall. There are two Chinese on the bus. One is a woman. She is driving the bus. The other is a young man. He speaks English very well. He is talking about the Great Wall now. All the people on the bus are listening to him. They will visit the Great Wall.

   It’s Sunday today. I had an egg, some milk and zongzi for breakfast. They are very good for our health. I had fish, rice and a pear for lunch. I like fish very much. I had noodles, vegetables and a banana for dinner. It’s not good for us to eat meat at night. I wanted to have an ice cream. But I didn’t. Because it’s not good for our teeth.

China is a big country. There are many big cities in it. Beijing is the capital of China. It's in the north of China. It has got about twenty million people. Shanghai is in the east of China. It has got about twenty-four millon people. It's the economic center（经济中心）of China. Hong Kong is in the south of China. It's small but beautiful. It's warm in winter there. Harbin is in the north of China. It's very cold in winter.
