Yuan Longping is China’s “Father of Hybrid Rice (杂交水稻之父)”. He was a great Chinese agricultural (农业) scientist. He worked hard in the field. In 1960, he found a special (特殊的) rice plant. It was a hybrid rice (杂交) plant. It could grow in different places and different kinds of weather.

Zhong Nanshan was born in (出生于) 1936 in Nanjing. In 2020, the virus (病毒) made many people ill. He helped people keep away from (远离) the virus from morning to night. He asked people to stay at home, wash hands often and keep doing exercise every day.

My name is Li Ming. I’m from Beijing, China. I’m twelve years old. I have a good friend. Her name is Lily. She is thirteen years old. She is shorter than (比) me. She is from New York. Now she is having a trip in Beijing. She likes China very much. Last Sunday, she went to the Summer Palace and the Palace Museum in Beijing. She took many pictures. Long, long ago, there was a young man. People called him Lord Ye. He liked to draw dragons very much. He drew many dragons in his house. His house became a world of dragons. A real dragon heard of Lord Ye. The real dragon was deeply moved. He wanted to visit Lord Ye and made a friend with him. One day, the real dragon came to visit Lord Ye. “Hi! Mr. Ye! Nice to meet you! ” Lord Ye was afraid of real dragon. He ran away as fast as he could. “Oh! My God! Help!   Help!” he ran and shouted.

Mr. Wang’s old grandfather lives with her. Every morning, he goes out for a walk in the garden and comes home at 12:30 for lunch.

But one morning, a police car stops outside Mr. Wang's house at twelve, and two police-men help his grandfather to get out. One of them says to Mr. Wang: “The old man loses his way (迷路) home in the garden and calls us for help, so we drive the car to bring him home.” Mr. Wang is very surprised but he thanks the policemen and then they leave. “But Grandfather,” he asks, “You go to that garden every day for twenty years. How can you lose your way home?” The old man smiles and says: “I can’t lose my way but I’m just tired and don’t want to go home on foot.”

New Year's Day is on the first day of January. There is a three-day holiday. We like the food very much.

On the first day, mum cooks a lot of yummy (很好吃的) food. My family have a big dinner together. We like the food very much.

On the second day, my good friends and I play lots of games. We play football and cards together. It is fun. In the evening, mum and I go to see a film. It is very interesting and exciting. We like it very much.

Mum and I go to the supermarket by bike on the third day. We buy a lot of food and some fruit. I eat the food and watch TV when we go back on New Year's Day. I am very happy and excited.

Mr. Green is an Englishman. He is a teacher. He teaches English in No.15 middle school in Beijing. He likes teaching a lot. He goes to work by school bus every morning.

There are fifty students in his class. He speaks English with them in class. He plays games with them after class. He likes them very much. And his students love him, too. They are good friends.

   I’m Wei Hua. Next Monday is my grandma’s birthday. We will go to her house by car and have a birthday party. Tomorrow I will go shopping with my mother and father. We want to buy a new coat and a big birthday cake for grandma. I think we will have a happy day.

   Tom is a little boy. He is four. Today his mother is taking him to see his grandmother. His grandmother's home is very far. So they are going there by bus. There are only twenty people on the bus. They are all sitting on their seats. Tom is very happy. He is running on the bus. His mother asks, “Why are you running?” “I like to see my grandmother very much. I want this bus to go fast.” Tom answers.
