An artist goes to a beautiful village (村庄)and stays with a farmer. He draws pictures every day and the farmer cooks for him. The artist says “Thank you” and give some money to the farmer. But the farmer says, “I don’t want any money. Can you give me one of your pictures? In a week the money will be used up(用光) but your picture will still be there.”

The artist is happy to hear that. But the farmer continues (继续), “I have a son, and he wants to be an artist. When he comes back, I’ll show him your picture, and he will not want to be an artist any more(不再), I think.”

Hi! I am little Jack. There are four people in my family. They are my father, my mother, my sister and I. My father is a teacher. He likes reading books and painting. He works hard. He often goes to work on foot. But today, he is going by bus because he is not well. He has a cold. He is going to see a doctor. My mother is an accountant (会计). She likes watching TV and doing sports. She is going to be a member of “Sports Club”. She is tall and thin. My sister is a student. She is lovely. She likes swimming and listening to music. She is good at English. I am a student, too. I like science. I want to be a teacher in the future. I love my family.

When you are in England, you must be very careful on the street because the traffic keeps to the left (交通是左通行的). Before you cross a street, you must look to the right and then the left. In the morning and in the evening when people go to or come back from work, the streets are very busy. When you go by bus in England, you have to be careful, too. Always remember the traffic (通) moves (移动) on the left.

Mike’s mom Cindy works in a factory (工厂). She is busy and tired every day. Mike’s dad and Mike want to help her. Cindy often goes shopping after work. So Mike and his dad go to the supermarket first. Cindy always cooks delicious food for them. Mike and his dad are busy in the kitchen. They want to cook a big dinner for Cindy. When Cindy comes back, they finish the big dinner. Cindy is very happy. They have a happy dinner together.

How are you? It's winter now in America. lt’s very cold. Sometimes it snows and everything is white. We like snow, because we can play with snow and make snowmen. Does it often snow in your hometown?

Christmas is coming soon. We are very busy. My father and mother buy a lot of presents for our family. We decorate Christmas trees in our house. We put lights and stars in the tree.
