Laifu is my cute dog. It loves to play every day. One day, there was a fire in the house. Sam and I were at home. We called “help”. Because the fire was big. The firefighters couldn't hear us. But the firelighters had a special dog. Its name is Coco. Coco can hear the people. It found Sam, Laifu and me. Then the frefighters helped us out. "Oh, Laifu, you should learn from Coco! Coco is clever than you!" my mother said. Everybody laughed at last.

My father often takes me to the zoo, because I like animals very much. It is winter. The days are getting cold. Many animals stay in their houses. The elephants are big. They like to eat vegetables and bananas. The bears are by the elephants. They are brown. They like to sleep in winter. I go to say hello to them, but I can’t wake them up. There are many monkeys in the Monkey Mountain. They feel cold, and they hide in the holes. A mother monkey takes a baby monkey in her arms and makes it warm. The pandas are lovely. They stay in the warm house and eat nice food. Many other animals in the zoo are happy in winter.

Mr White looks out of his window. There is a boy at the other side of the street. The boy takes some bread out of a bag and begins eating it. There is a very thin dog in the street too. The boy says to it, “Come here, good dog. I will give you some bread.”

The dog is hungry so it goes to the boy, but the boy does not give it any bread. He kicks the dog. It runs away. Then Mr White comes out of his house and says to the boy, “I will give you a shilling (先令).”

The boy is happy and says, “Yes.” “Come here.” Mr White says. The boy goes to him, but Mr White doesn’t give him a shilling. He hits him with a stick (棍；手杖). The boy cries and says, “Why do you hit me? I don’t ask you for any money.” “No,” Mr White says, “And the dog doesn’t ask you for any bread, but you kick it.”

Dogs are people’s friends. They can make people happy and they can help people. They can help people find things. They can help the police catch the bad men. Do you know “seeing eye dogs”? “Seeing eye dogs” are very useful to the blind people. They can help the blind people cross the street. They make the blind people's life more easy.

Last Sunday I went to the bookshop(书店) with my parents. We walked to the bookshop. On the way, we met John and his sister. They went to the bookshop , too. John is Lingling’s friend. John and I are in the same class. In the bookshop, we bought many books. John bought a book about animals for Lingling.

My name is Mary. I am eleven. Ted is my brother. He is thirteen. We are in the same school. My mother is a teacher. She is a teacher in our school. My father is a teacher, too. He is a Chinese teacher in a college. I have a cat. Its name is Miaomiao. It is white. It is a nice cat. We are good friends.

My name is Peter. I'm a blind boy. I've got a pet dog, Allen. He is six years old. His favourite food is meat. He is cute. I like exercise, so every day Allen walks and plays with me in the park. Allen is clever. When we go out, he can push the button（按按钮）with his nose to open the door for me. When we go shopping, he can get the food and put it in the basket. When we go home, he can find the way back easily. Allen is a good helper. I love him and he loves me.

Ms Li is 31 years old. She is a writer. She is deaf. She can't hear. But she is happy every day. Because she has a dog. The dog is cute and clever. It helps Ms Li. It can do lots of things. It can open the door, walk with Ms Li and find things for her. Ms Li loves the dog very much.

How Can We Help the Disabled People(残疾人)?

Disabled people need our help. Some of them can’t walk or see. For example，a man on the wheelchair(轮椅) may find it hard to get onto the second floor，or a blind man may fail to cross the street without help. We can help them to push their wheelchairs，or help them to cross the street. We should help the disabled people as possible as we can.

Animals are our good friends. Some animals are very useful. The elephants in Thailand help people pick up (拾起) the logs (原木). The elephants can also help people carry the water. Eskimo Dogs (爱斯基摩犬) help their owners (主人) do many things. They pull the sledges (雪橇). They are very helpful. Some animals are very cute. Children like them very much. Pandas are from China and koalas are from Australia. They are very popular and they are friendly to people.
