Long long ago, there was a poor (穷) man. He had an orange tree. On the tree, there were many fine oranges. One of them was very big. It was as big as a ball. Nobody saw so big an orange. The poor man was very happy. He gave it to the King (国王). The King was so glad that he gave the man a lot of money for it.

When a rich man heard of it, he said to himself, “It was only an orange. Why did the King give so much money for him? I would take my gold (金的) cup to the King. He would give me more money.”

The next day when the King got the gold cup, he said to the rich man, “What a beautiful cup! I would show you something wonderful. This big orange is for you.”

One day, Mr White came home very late. He looked for the key to the door, but he couldn't find it. He lost his key. He rang the bell (按门铃), but nothing happened (发生). He knocked (敲) at the room's window. But Mrs White didn't wake up (醒来). He stopped and then he began to speak like a small child. He said, “Mother, I want to go to the toilet"   Mrs White woke up. She opened the door for him.

Hi, I’m Tom. Last holiday, I took a trip with my parents. We went to Australia by plane. It was in August. We left Beijing on August 3rd. It was winter in Australia. But in Beijing it was summer. I like there because I like playing with the snow. I went skiing and took many photos. I bought many presents for my friends, too. The trip was so exciting. And we were excited. I’ll never forget it.

Xiaoyong is in London now. He arrived there three days ago. His uncle met him at the airport. They went to his uncle’s home by taxi. London is a big city. There are lots of tall buildings and many cars. He visited the British Museum and the London Eye with his uncle and aunt yesterday. These places were great. They took a lot of photos there. In the evening, his aunt made the traditional English dish-fish and chips for him. It was delicious. He liked it very much. They had a good time.

It was Sunday. Tom and his family were very busy. In the morning, Tom’s father watered some flowers in the garden. Tom’s mother cooked in the kitchen. Tom did his homework. His sister Sally practised playing the piano. She would take part in a piano competition (比赛). In the afternoon, Tom’s parents went to see a movie. Tom played football with his friends in the park. In the evening, the family were at home. They were very tired, but they were very happy.

My name is Peter. I'm a student. I had a busy weekend. I did my homework at home on Saturday morning. I went to the park by bike on Saturday afternoon. I cleaned my room on Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon I visited my grandparents. At night，I watched TV with my parents. I was very tired，but I was very happy.

I went to Beijing with my parents last Thursday. We went there by train. The first day we went to the Palace Museum. We took many pictures. The second day we went to the Summer Palace. The third day we went to a zoo. We saw many animals. We came back last Sunday. We were very happy.

Last Sunday, I went to the West Lake with my parents. We went there by train.

It is very beautiful. We saw many people there. They walked around the lake. We also saw many boats on the lake. I bought a nice kite near the lake. We ate good food and took many pictures there.

We had a good time.

   Lucky Dog is from the US. Yesterday Lucky Dog went to Beijing. He visited Tian’anmen Square (广场). He went there by bus. It was very interesting. He met Brave Dog there. Brave Dog is a Chinese dog. They talked happily (愉快地) with each other. But Brave Dog could not speak English. What language (语言) did they speak? Do you know? Guess! The dogs always talk in dogs’ language!
