In China, there are many different kinds of food. Some of them are very popular. The most well-known Chinese food is jiaozi. Now let’s talk about them. Everyone in China likes jiaozi very much. And there are many different kinds of jiaozi. Some have meat and vegetables; others have sugar, eggs and so on. I like jiaozi with vegetables and pork(猪肉) better than any other kinds.

Usually people make jiaozi at home. If you have no time to make them, you can buy them from a supermarket. Then you take them home and eat them with vinegar(醋).

Today is Sunday. My parents are making jiaozi at home. I will help them.

“Please make a jiaozi like this.” My mother teaches me. After a short time, I can make a good jiaozi.

Mother’s Day is a holiday for mothers. On this day, mothers don’t work. It’s on the second Sunday in May. It’s celebrated in the United States, England, Sweden, India, Mexico and some other countries.

Arbor Day

In America, people celebrate（庆祝） Arbor Day in April. This annual（每年的）holiday encourage（鼓励）people to plant and care for trees.

I received a tree seedling（幼苗）on Arbor Day when I was 7 years old. My parents helped me plant the little tree in our front yard（院子）. I was so proud of it! 25 years later, I an still proud when I see it! Now it is a tall tree.

America isn’t the only country to have a tree planting day. Korea and other countries, also have hold a national（国家的）tree planting festival.

I am Jack Brown. I’m an American boy from New York. I study in Jinling Primary School now. My father is an engineer（工程师）. My mother is a maths teacher. I have many friends in China.

My favourite festival is Christmas Day. Last Christmas Day, I opened the presents under the Christmas tree. Dad gave me a telescope（望远镜）. That is my favourite present. And I got a calculator（计算器）from my mum. From my grandpa and grandma, I got some stamps and a yo-yo. And we had a good time that day.

The Australia seasons are different from Chinese seasons. When it’s spring in China, it is autumn in Australia. Australia is in the south（南部）of the Earth. June, July and August are the winter months. It’s not cold in winter. People in Australia wear jackets in the morning and T-shirts at noon. Summer is in December, January and February. It’s very hot there. People like going swimming.

Near the North Pole（北极）there are two seasons. The winter nights are long. For more than two months, you can’t see the sun, even（甚至）at noon. The summer days are long too. For more than two months, the sun never sets（落下）, and there is no night.

The Spring Festival is the most important (重要的) festival in China. To the Chinese people, it is as important as Christmas to the people in the West. In this holiday, Chinese people get together for sharing happiness (幸福). There are many customs (风俗) at the Spring Festival. Before the Spring Festival, people usually clean and decorate (装饰) their houses. On the Chinese New Year’s Eve, all the family members have a big meal. Dumplings are very popular food in Chinese family. After dinner, the whole family chat and watch TV together. People always watch the Spring Festival Party on CCTV. During the Spring Festival, the adults (成人) usually give lucky money to children. The children like fireworks (焰火). They are very beautiful at night.
