The Greens have two girls, Annie and Jenny. Jenny is eight. Annie is ten. The two girls both like riding bikes. One day, they are riding bikes in the park. Annie falls down from her bike. There is a big cut on her right leg. Jenny helps her to get up and takes her home. Their mother cleans the cut and bandages(用绷带包扎) her. Then their mother asks their father to take Annie to see the doctor. After Annie hears that, she gets up and goes to the kitchen and takes out an apple from the fridge.

Jenny comes into the kitchen and asks Annie, “Why are you eating the apple in the kitchen?” Annie says, “I am afraid of doctors. Our teacher says that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. So I am eating an apple.”

One day, a camel (骆驼) and a goat (山羊) meet on a road. They walk along the road together. After a while, they see a tall tree and many leaves are on it. The camel opens his mouth and eats the nice leaves. But the goat is too short to eat them. The camel says to the goat, “Look! I can eat the leaves. I’m taller than (比) you, so I’m better (好) than you.” The goat doesn’t say anything. They still walk along the road and they see much green grass (草)inside (在……里面) a wall. But there’s only a small hole in the wall. The camel couldn’t go into the wall through the hole. But the goat could. He eats the nice grass and says to the camel, “I can eat the grass, so I’m better than you.”

Bob is an old man. He has two big houses and a new car. He has no wife, but he is a father of four children. He has two sons (儿子) and two daughters (女儿). One son is from England. His name is Bill. The other son is from America. His name is Mike. One of his daughters is from China. Her name is Lanlan. The other one is from Japan. Her name is Nikon.

Bob is not the children’s real father. But he loves them very much. The children love their “father”, too. Bob has many toys for the children. He gives different toys to different children. The boys play with toy cars. The girls play with dolls and toy animals. Bob is the children’s “father”, and he is their good friend, too.

Lily has a fever. Now she and her mother are in the hospital. The doctor looks over(检查) her carefully. Then he says to her, "Don't worry. You've got a little cold. Take some medicine, drink more hot water and have a lot of rest. You can get better soon. "

But Lily doesn't like taking any medicine. Then her mother says," If you want to get better, take some medicine."

" All right!" Then she takes some medicine.

“Thank you very much” said old John “I can do everything you say.”

Four weeks later old John comes to the doctor again. "Well", says the doctor, "I am glad to see you. You look much younger." "Oh, doctor," says old John, "I feel very well now, I have a good rest. I go to bed early, drink milk, walk a lot. Your advice helps me. But you ask me to smoke one cigar a day, and it nearly (几乎) kills (杀) me."

One day a mother takes her little son to a park. They see a note on the gate of the park. It says, “Children taller than one meter should buy a ticket. Each ticket is six yuan.” The mother and the son walk to the conductor. She gives the conductor six yuan and says, "One ticket, please?"
