Ants are almost everywhere! We usually feel angry about them. But these small ones can teach us something. You see, we can learn a lot from ants.

Never(从来不) Give Up. Ants don’t sit down or become sad when something difficult is in front of them. One day, I watch a small ant taking a bug(虫子). A big leaf is in its way. But the ant doesn’t give up. It tries again and again. It works very hard. Finally, the ant gets the bug over the leaf and into the nest(巢穴).

Always Plan(计划)for the Future. Ants know there are seasons. They get food together and build(建筑) their nests in summer and autumn. When the cold winter days come，they usually stay in their warm nests. And they won’t be hungry.

Work Together. Ants are small. Everyone has its job. But they also work well as a team. Because they know they can do so much together.

Welcome to City Zoo. Come and see the pandas from China. The elephants from Thailand (泰国) will dance for you. And the monkeys will play ball games with you. There are many other animals. It’s a sunny day in April. Jack goes to the park with his parents by bus. There are some birds flying in the sky. The beautiful flowers and tall trees are dancing in the park. Once upon a time, there was a thief (小偷). He always stole (偷) from rich families. After stealing, he would leave his mark (记号) on the wall. He was known as Mr Here I Come. One day, he was caught in the act of stealing. So he didn’t have time to leave his mark. In prison (牢房), he asked the prison guard for help. He gave him a bag of treasures and asked him to let him out for two hours. He stole a family and left his mark again. So the governor (知府大人) thought he couldn’t be Mr Here I Come and let him go. But within half a day, he was arrested again.

It is Saturday. The Browns are at home. Mrs Brown is in the kitchen. She’s making apple pies. The pies she makes are very delicious. Do you want to have a taste? Mr Brown isn’t in the living room. He is outside. He is washing his car. The car is new and very beautiful. So he looks after it very well. Jim is in the garden . He is playing football with some other boys. Where is his sister, Sue? She’s in her bedroom with her friend, Ann. They are watching the Animal World.

Paul is thirteen. He has a cold and coughs day and night. He goes to see a doctor. The doctor gives him some cough medicine.

It is Mama Rabi’s birthday. Little Rabbit buys her a cake from the shop. On the way home, Little Rabbit walks along a lake. He falls(摔倒) over and the cake splashes(泼洒) into the water.

When he gets home, Little Rabbit tells Mama Rabbit about that He says sadly,

“I go to the shop and buy you a cake.

I fall over and your cake falls into the lake.

I cry as I watch it go floating(漂浮) away.

I don’t have a present for you today.

Mama Rabbit smiles(微笑) and says, “You give me a nice present, Little Rabbit.”

“Do I?” says Little Rabbit.

“Yes. I get a poem from you. A nice birthday poem. Thank you, Little Rabbit!”

Mrs Brown has a garden behind her house. It is small, but nice. In spring, she grows some vegetables in it. She looks after (照看) them very carefully. When summer comes, they look very nice.

One evening, Mrs Brown looks at her vegetables and says, “Tomorrow I am going to pick them and we can eat them.” But early the next morning, her son runs into the kitchen and shouts, “Mum, mum! Come quickly! Our neighbour’s (邻居) ducks are in the garden and they are eating our vegetables!” Mrs Brown runs out, but it is too late. All the vegetables are gone! Mrs Brown is sad and her neighbour is very sorry about it.

A few days before Christmas, the neighbour gives Mrs Brown a beautiful fat duck. And on it is a piece of paper with the words, “Enjoy your vegetables!”
