My grandparents live in a small village in the country. They are over 70 years old. They like the country life. “Everything here is so fresh,” My grandma often says. “The air is fresh. The food is clean and fresh, too.” I often go to visit them with my parents. When I am on the farm, I often help them do housework. I feed the chickens and grow the vegetables. I pick the apples from the tree and make apple juice. I like to stay on the farm. My dog likes to visit my grandparents, too. It likes to run around the cows and sheep there. It always has a great time playing on the farm.

May is a girl from countryside. She studies in the city. She doesn’t want to go back to the countryside because she thinks it is not modern at all. She likes the city life very much. So she finds a job in the city. She works in a tall building. She is very busy. When she is free, she has dinner with her good friends. At the weekend, she can go to the cinema and see a film. She can go shopping in the supermarket. It is noisy and crowded in the city. It is quiet and clean in the countryside. But May likes the colourful life in the city. She must work harder and harder because she wants to buy a house in the city.

I am Wang Yue. I’m a country boy. I think living in the country is both good and bad. In the country, the air is clean, the food is fresh. We walk or ride a bike to school. This gives us good exercise. We run in the fields, catch fish in the river. We have lots of fun outdoors. We go to bed early and get up early. We live a healthy life. But county life can be boring. We have no cinemas to go. There aren’t many shops for shopping. We always eat at home. We can’t enjoy delicious food. Country life can be dangerous, too. Our parents work in the city. They can’t look after(照顾) us. We may fall down and get hurt in the country.

Hello, I am Tom. I live in London now. There is a big farm far away from my house. I usually ride a bike to visit the farm on Saturdays. It takes me about fifty minutes to get there. There are more than thirty cows on the farm. There is plenty of green grass on the farm. On the grass, I can see some rabbits and chickens. There is a river beside the farm. There are some ducks and geese on the river. There are thirty-nine trees by the river. I like the fresh vegetables and clean water there.

Some monkeys are playing in a tree near a lake. They are having a good time. Suddenly a little monkey cries, “Look, the moon has dropped into the water!” “Get it out, hurry!” says an old monkey. The little monkey hangs from the tree by his tail. Then each monkey hangs from the other by his legs. At last they get to the water, but they still cannot scoop up(舀上来) the moon. Another little monkey finds half a gourd(葫芦)to scoop up the moon. He gets the moon in the gourd. At that time all the monkeys come for the moon. But the gourd drops and the moon is broken. The monkeys are very sad. But when they look up, they find the moon is still high up in the sky, shining bright.

Uncle Sam doesn't like farmers, He thinks they are very foolish and only know how to work on the farm. One winter morning, the sun is shining. Uncle Sam sits on the step of his house. At that moment, a farmer with a map in his hand comes to him.
