Jack is an American boy. He is going to go to his uncle's home tomorrow. His uncle works in Beijing. He is very excited. He wants to buy some presents for his friends in China. He has three penfriends in China. He wants to give them a big surprise. He also wants to visit the Great Wall. He believes(相信)he will have a good time.

Today is Sunday. It's sunny. Lucy is going to the park. She's going to fly a kite with Lily. Lily's mother doesn't go to the park. Because tomorrow is Lily's birthday. She is going to buy a new dress for her. Lucy's mother will go shopping with her together. Lucy's mother wants to buy a pair of new shoes for herself.

Today is Thursday. We have Maths, English and PE on Thursday. The PE teacher went to Beijing yesterday. He will spend four days in Beijing. We are so sad. Because we can’t play football.

Our English teacher says loudly, “I’ll have a PE class with you this week!” “Great!”. We are all happy and we are jumping.

Today is very hot. My dog is sitting under the tree. A butterfly stops on its head. It’s very interesting. My sister Amy and I are going to swim in the lake. After swimming, we are hungry. We go to the restaurant. I have bread and butter and Amy has two hot dogs. We are very happy.

What’s your plan for the weekend?

In the US, lots of people usually play or watch baseball games together. It’s one of their favourite games. Why? Baseball is not as fast as basketball. People can relax (放松) at a game. They can talk, and get to know other people.

Baseball is also the game between fathers and sons. They play together. So many boys begin to play baseball when they are very young. They are very proud of being baseball players on the school team. They practise very hard. It takes them hours to play and practise together after school.

When there's a baseball game, all the family members will come to root (全力支持) for the school team. They will cheer (欢呼) for them.

Li Min is a Chinese girl, but she is in America now. She is six now. Her mother says to her, “You are six now. You must go to school.” Li Min’s mother takes her to school every day, and she studies hard. Today her mother comes to the school at four. Li Min comes out of the classroom. “I have a new friend, Mum,” says Li Min, “She is six too. Her name is Rose. She is English, but not Chinese.” Mother asks, “Can she speak Chinese?” “No, she can’t.” answers Li Min.

We are learning English, but how can we learn English well? A student can know a lot about English, but maybe he can’t speak English well. Why can’t we speak English well? Because we don’t often use it in the daily life.

If you want to know how to swim, you must get into the water. And if you want to be a football player, you must play football.

So you see, you can learn English well only by using it. You must listen to your teacher carefully in class. You must read texts every day. You should speak English with your parents and also write in English. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. You should try to speak English with some foreigners（外国人）. Then one day, you may find your English is very good.
