I’m Jack. There is a small restaurant near my school. It’s very nice. The food is very delicious and cheap (便宜的). And all dishes are half-price (半价的) on Tuesdays. Here is the menu(菜单):

I often go there to eat some food with my friends after school. I like hamburgers. Mike likes sandwiches. Jim likes hot dogs. Sometimes my teachers go there to have their dinners too.

It’s Sunday. Linda and her family are going to have a picnic near the lake. Her brother Mike is carrying a basket of food. Their dog is with them too.

Now Linda’s mother is making a salad (沙拉). Linda’s sister Susan is painting a picture quietly (安静地), but their dog starts to bark. “Go and play over there,” says Susan.

Linda is putting the food on a tablecloth (桌布). There is lots of fruit and drinks for them.

Her father is making sandwiches, but their dog takes the meat away “Stop!” Her father shouts loudly. “I can help you, Dad,” Mike says.

Mike is running after the dog, but the dog jumps into the lake. Can Mike jump in too? No! Because he can’t swim.

Lily and her family want to visit some places in summer. Lily’s mother is going go to Guilin. Guilin is a beautiful city. It’s in the south of China and it has got a beautiful lake. Her mother is going to row a boat on the lake. Lily’s father is going to visit the mountains and lakes in Guilin, too. Lily and her brother will visit Hong Kong. They will have a good time there.

In many English homes, people eat four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. People have breakfast from seven to nine in the morning. They often have cereal (谷类食物), bread, eggs and sausages. They also drink tea or coffee at breakfast. They have lunch at about one o'clock. Afternoon tea is from four to five in the afternoon.

They have dinner at about half past seven in the evening. First they have soup, and then they have meat or fish with vegetables. After that, they eat some other things, like apples, oranges or bananas.

But some of English people have their dinner in the middle of the day. Their meals are breakfast, dinner, tea and supper. All these meals are very necessary (必要的).

It’s five o’clock in the afternoon. The children are cleaning the classroom. Look! Xiaoxue and Maomao are cleaning the windows. Oh, the windows are too high. Maomao needs some help. Xiaoqiang can help her clean them. Feifei and Pengpeng are cleaning the floor. Pingping is cleaning the desks and the chairs. John is carrying water with Tom. They are very tired, but they are very happy. Now the classroom is clean and bright.

A little ant (蚂蚁) is very thirsty. He would like some water to drink. He sees a small river. He’s very happy. But he can’t drink the water. And he falls into the water. He is afraid because he can’t swim. A bird is flying above the river. She sees the little ant. She quickly throws a leaf (树叶) to the water. The little ant climbs on the leaf.
