It is a nice day. Our class has a field trip today. We are very excited. In the park, the trees are green and the flowers are blooming. Some birds are singing and dancing in the trees. Some bees and butterflies are busy flying and dancing in the flowers. Look! Amy is watching insects (昆虫) and Peter is collecting leaves. They want to write a report (报告). The teacher is sitting on the chairs, talking and laughing happily. Some boys are running around the flowers. How happy we are! We are having a good time.

Mozart(莫扎特)

When Mozart was three, he often had lessons with his elder sister. When he was young, he played music for lots of people. But some people didn’t believe that a little boy could write such beautiful music. They asked him to stay in a room by himself for a week and somebody watched the room. In the week, he finished a piece of music. After that, people believed him. During his short life he studied music, taught music, played music and wrote music. His music made him happy, and made other people happy, too.

One day, John told his friends “I’m going to have a holiday in Beijing. But I can’t speak Chinese, so I’m going to take an evening class and study Chinese there for two months.” Soon his holiday came and he went to China happily.

After he came back, his friends asked him, “Do you have any trouble(麻烦) with your Chinese when you are in Beijing, John?” “No, I don’t.” answered John. “But Chinese people do.”

Yesterday afternoon, I was in a supermarket and waited in line to pay(支付) for my things. The line was long and I looked around. At that time, I found an old woman, about eighty years old, standing in another line. She was at the end of the line. So I went to her and told her to take my place. At first, she didn’t accept(接受) my help and said, “Oh, dear! It’s a long line. I don’t want to trouble(麻烦) you.” I said, “Don’t worry. It is not a problem for me.” Then she thanked me and I helped her to my place. Many people in the line watched me with praise in their eyes. I was very happy yesterday.

Children like swimming in summer because they feel cool in water. But it may be dangerous. Every year, there are some students died of swimming. Most of them live in villages. Some students think they are good swimmers, bad things will not happen to them. So they go swimming in the lakes or rivers alone. Some students think the water is not deep. It’s safe for them to swim. They don’t know what dangerous they may face. They may lose their lives at last. Summer holiday is coming. If you want to swim, you’d better swim in the swimming pool or swim with your parents. Remember that: Don’t swim in the lakes or rivers. Don’t swim alone.

I’m Jack. There is a small restaurant near my school. It’s very nice. The food is very delicious and cheap (便宜的). And all dishes are half-price (半价的) on Tuesdays. Here is the menu(菜单):

I often go there to eat some food with my friends after school. I like hamburgers. Mike likes sandwiches. Jim likes hot dogs. Sometimes my teachers go there to have their dinners too.

It’s Sunday. Linda and her family are going to have a picnic near the lake. Her brother Mike is carrying a basket of food. Their dog is with them too.

Now Linda’s mother is making a salad (沙拉). Linda’s sister Susan is painting a picture quietly (安静地), but their dog starts to bark. “Go and play over there,” says Susan.

Linda is putting the food on a tablecloth (桌布). There is lots of fruit and drinks for them.

Her father is making sandwiches, but their dog takes the meat away “Stop!” Her father shouts loudly. “I can help you, Dad,” Mike says.

Mike is running after the dog, but the dog jumps into the lake. Can Mike jump in too? No! Because he can’t swim.
