Mary is an American girl. She is in Beijing with her parents now. She doesn't know Chinese, but she is trying to study and speak it. Sometimes her friends don't understand(理解)her, because she can't speak Chinese very well.

It's a Saturday morning. She wants to go to the park to see a flower show(展览). But she doesn't know how to get there. She asks a Chinese boy. The boy can't understand her. Then she takes out a pen and a piece of paper. She draws some flowers on it and gives it to the boy. She says something about it. The boy smiles and then shows Mary the way to the park.

My name is Lucy. I'm from China but now I live in London. There is a very large Chinatown in London. I went there for the Spring Festival with my grandparents. At night we saw a lion dance. The “lion” danced in the street. It was red and gold. There were beautiful lights everywhere. There was music too. We had a great time.

Daydream

It’s a very nice day in May. The students are having a maths class. But Bob is looking out of the window and watching the clouds move across the blue sky. “Boy, what a day to play football.” he thinks. Just then the bell rings and wakes him up from his daydream. He closes his notebook sadly, stands up, and walks slowly to his next class.

It's late at night. Mark is sitting on his bed and he is looking at his clock. His neighbours are making noises and Mark is very angry.

The people in Apartment (公寓) 2 are dancing. The man in Apartment 3 is cleaning the room. The woman in Apartment 4 is playing the violin. The high school students in Apartment 5 are listening to rock music. The dog in Apartment 6 is barking loudly. And the people in Apartment 7 are having a big argument (争吵).

Today is Sunday. The sun is shining. There are lots of people in the park. Some old men are playing chess. Some women are dancing. Some girls are singing. Some boys are running. A little baby is walking and her mother is helping her. Her father is talking on the phone. Two girls are taking photos of the lake. Some ducks are swimming on the lake. They have a good time.

It’s Daming’s room. Some books are on the floor. Some eggs are on the table. They are broken. There are some apples and bananas on the bed. Daming is reading but his sister starts to cry. What a mess! Her mother wants Daming to clean the room, but Daming can’t do it. He is doing his homework. His mother is going to clean his room.

It’s a nice day. This is Lili’s family. They are having a picnic in the park. The park is very beautiful. The birds are singing in the tree. The fish are swimming in the lake. There are lots of beautiful flowers and tall trees. Her grandpa is playing the suona. Her grandma is dancing. Her father is listening to music. Her mother is reading a book.
