It’s Mid-Autumn Festival evening. My family are in the garden. We are looking at the moon in the sky and talking about it. It’s big and bright.

My grandma is telling us some Chinese old stories about the moon. She says, “There are some trees on the moon. There is a woman and a rabbit on the moon, too.” But my father says, “There aren’t any people or trees on the moon.” I like the stories very much.

What a beautiful moon! I hope I can land(登上) on the moon one day.

Wang Tao usually gets up at six thirty. Then he goes running in the park. On Sunday he often plays football. Sometimes he plays basketball with Peter.

On Sports Day he likes to run 100-meter race. He also does high jump and long jump. He is very good at sports.

The fourth Thursday of November is Thanksgiving Day. On this day people have a big family dinner. They also invite friends to join them. At the dinner party they give thanks for their food. They thank their parents, teachers and friends. They hope for a better year and good luck.

This year Sally spent her Thanksgiving Day in China. She invited Miss Gao, Wang Tao and Yang Ming to her dinner party. They had a good time.

Every Friday afternoon, we have sports in the school playground. Some boys usually play basketball in the playground. Some boys run and play football. Sometimes some girls fly kites and some do high jump or do long jump. Now it’s 4:30 p.m. We are playing basketball game. Lin Tao is passing the ball to Wang Ming. “Catch!”he cries. Some pupils are watching. Some girls are cheering for their class team.

Our school is very big and clean. You can see some trees, grass and flowers in it. There are many pupils and teachers in our school. We all love sports. From Monday to Friday, we do morning exercises. We have PE classes every week. Many boys like playing basketball and some girls like it, too. After school, we often play basketball in the playground. We also have a school basketball team.

I’m Jim. Today is January 18. It’s my birthday. The weather is cold but sunny. It is nine fifteen in the morning. My father is cleaning the living room. I am making my bed. My mother is making dumplings in the kitchen. There are many fruits on the table. A big cake is on the table, too. I will have a birthday party in the evening. We are busy for it.

Last night Wang Tao watched a football game. It was between Australia and England. He went to bed at half past eleven. This morning he got up late. He went to school by taxi. He had some cake and milk in the taxi. He got to school late.

The Olympic Games takes place every four years. There are Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics. We can see swimming and boating at the Summer Olympics. We can see skating at the Winter Olympics. In August, 2008, China held the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing. On February 4, 2022, China will hold the 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, too.

Wang Tao usually gets up at half past six. But this morning he got up at half past seven. It was an hour late. He usually walks to school. But this morning he took a taxi. He usually gets to school at seven twenty. But this morning he got to school at eight o’clock. He was late for school. Why? Because he watched a football game last night. And he went to bed at eleven forty.
