When Andy was twelve years old, he went abroad for the first time. He went to a summer camp in Leeds, the UK.

He flew from Guangzhou to London with three pupils and a teacher from his school, the flight(航程) was fourteen hours long. He played cards with his friends, saw a film and read a book. Then he went to sleep. Andy and his friends left Guangzhou in the morning and arrived in London in the afternoon. Then they took a coach(长途巴士) to Leeds. It was a six-hour trip.

There were thirty eight children from eleven different countries in the camp. For the first two days, Andy missed his family very much. Soon he made some friends and started to enjoy the camp. The children stayed at the camp all the time. Every day they played different games. In one of the games, Andy played(扮演) a disabled(有残疾的) person and he had to walk with only one leg for a day! He got to know what a hard life a disabled person lives. He will never forget that day. Andy made friends with most of the children and learned quite a lot about other countries. When it was time to say goodbye, he didn’t want to leave the camp.

London is a beautiful city. It’s the capital of England. It’s in the south-east of England. The weather is so nice in London. It’s warm in winter and cool in summer. It’s often rainy and foggy in most places there. It’s easy to see some people walking with umbrellas. People are friendly and nice.

The famous sport is football. There are many wonderful football matches. Well, 2012 Olympic Games(奥运会) was held in London. Many people from all over the world went to London during the summer holiday. They went and watched the different games. By the way, London is a good place to visit. People can go sightseeing in British Museum, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Olympic Park Of London and so on.

Hello, children. We know that Guangzhou is a beautiful city. It is big and clean. It has a long history. Today I want to take you to a famous old school. It is the Chen Clan Academy(陈家祠) . Chen Clan Academy is in Zhongshan Qi Road. Now it’s an art museum. Let’s go to the museum. The building is old-looking and nice. There are some old pictures on the walls. Seoul is a fun place to visit. There are large parks, palaces, museums and shopping malls. Near Seoul, there are beautiful natural places, like forests, rivers and mountains. On weekends, many people go there and have a good time.

Seoul is a business centre. Most Korean companies have offices in the city. Some foreign companies have offices in Seoul, too.

So it is a great city to live in or visit. It welcomes tourists from all over the world.

Greenland is in the north of Europe. Near Greenland is another island. It is small. Its name is Iceland.

Do you think that Greenland is green and warm? Do you think that Iceland is white with ice? If you do, you are wrong.

Not many people live on the big island of Greenland. There are more people in your hometown than in the whole Greenland. That is because Greenland is not green. Greenland is white. Most of Greenland is covered (覆盖) with ice. The ice is higher than some of the world’s tall buildings.

What about Iceland? Is it colder than Greenland? No, it isn’t. Iceland has ice, but not so much. Iceland has a lot of hot springs. They give out hot water and steam (蒸汽). So it is not as cold as Greenland. And there are a lot of people in Iceland.

Harbin is a great city in China. It’s in the northeast of China. It’s famous for its cold winter. People call it “the Ice City”.

Every year, millions of people from all over the world visit Harbin. They come to see the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival. The festival usually begins in January. During the festival, visitors can enjoy the beautiful Ice and Snow World. They can see many kinds of ice and snow sculptures (雕塑). They can go skating and skiing too. If you like ice and snow, you will love Harbin.

Harbin is over 800 years old. Tourists can see many traditional (传统的) buildings in the city. They can also see many nice European style (欧洲风格) buildings on Central Street. People call Harbin “the Eastern Moscow (东方莫斯科)”.

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. It is very different from Guangzhou. There are many temples in Bangkok. It is hot all year round, so there is a lot of fruit. The most famous fruit is durian. There are many rivers in the city, so the market on the water is very famous. You can buy flowers, vegetables, fruit and other things on the boats.

The best time to visit Thailand is the end of March or the beginning of April, because there is the biggest festival in Thailand — the Water Festival. It is the beginning of their New Year. Before the festival, people clean their houses and cook nice food. During the festival, people sing, dance and throw water at each other. They think that water can clean away bad things and bring good luck. How interesting it is!
