Wendy and Susan are on a train. It’s 11: 45. They are a little hungry and thirsty. Wendy would like some chicken, rice and vegetables. But there is no chicken. At last, she has beef (牛肉), rice and vegetables for lunch. She also drinks some black tea. Susan would like some noodles with fish. But there is no fish. She has noodles with tomatoes.

They’re delicious, too. And she drinks some soup. After lunch, they are not hungry or thirsty.

Peter and Linda are good friends. This Saturday they will go to the Palace Museum. It is old and beautiful. It's about six hundred years old. It is famous in the world. This will be their second time(次) to go there. They hope(希望) it will be sunny that day. Peter's mother says, "There are many things there. When you look in the windows, you can see many old tables and chairs." They will take pictures. They think it will be a wonderful trip!

I'm Susan. I arrive at the village at nine o'clock in the morning. There are many trees in the village. I see some old people sitting under a big tree. They are talking. They are happy. I see some children flying kites. They are happy. One little girl is crying. She is sad. Because she can't fly the kite. It's difficult for her.

Sandwich was an Englishman. He lived in the 18^thcentury (世纪). Sandwich was rich, but he liked to play cards for money. He often played for 24 hours, and didn’t stop to have his meals. He ordered (命令) his servants (仆人) to bring him some meat and bread. He put the meat between the two pieces of bread and held the food in his left hand while he played cards with his right hand. People liked Sandwich’s idea, and from then on they ate bread and meat as Sandwich did.

From the name of the man, Sandwich, we have the word of the food “sandwich” today.

Now I am in Beijing. I want to go to the Great Wall, the Palace Museum and Wangfujing Street. The Great Wall is very old and very long. The Great Wall is far from our hotel. We need to take a bus. The Palace Museum is about six hundred years old. There are old chairs and tables in it. We can take pictures in it. I will buy some gifts for my family on Wangfujing Street. I’ll be busy but happy.

It's a fine Sunday morning. Kate and her father are in an plane. There are many people in it. Some of them come from the U.K. And some come from the U.S. and Canada. They are friends. They are going to the Great Wall. There are two Chinese in the plane. One is a man. He is a pilot（飞行员）. The other is a young woman. She speaks English well. She is talking about the Great Wall now. The people are listening to her. They like the Great Wall. They want to see it very much.

One day Mr. and Mrs.White go shopping by car. They stop their car near a shop. They buy a lot of things from the shop and the things are heavy. They want to put the things in their car. But Mr. White can᾽t open the door of the car. “Let᾽s ask a policeman for help,” says Mrs. White. They ask a policeman to help them. The policeman is very friendly to help them open the door of the car. At that time a man comes up and shouts, “What are you doing with my car?” Mr. and Mrs.White look at the number of the car. Then they say sorry to the man.

   It is Sunday morning. Mrs. Black and her daughter Kate go to the bookshop near their house. Mrs. Black wants to buy some picture books for her grandson. Kate wants to buy some storybooks. In the bookshop Kate meets her old classmate Sue. They are very good friends. They talk and talk for a long time and forget to buy the books. At twelve o᾽clock Mrs. Black finds them and asks Sue to go to have lunch in their home. Sue says, “Yes”. The two girls are very happy.

   Today our class go on a trip to Nanjing by train. We arrive there at about ten. First, we go to Bailuzhou Park. The park is small, but it is nice. The grass is green and the flowers are colourful. In the park you can see a lake, a bridge, some chairs and some tables. We walk around the park. Then we leave the park for downtown (商业区). There are a lot of people in the street. We do some shopping. I buy some pictures. At half past eleven, we go back to the park. We have lunch there. We eat bread, meat, eggs and some fruit. At five in the afternoon we come back home. We are very tired, but we are all happy.

Today is Sunday. The weather is fine. I go to the zoo with my parents. There are many animals at the zoo. Look! The pandas are eating bamboos（竹子） slowly. Two ducks are swimming in a lake. Two elephants are walking and a tiger is sleeping. I like monkeys best. They are jumping here and there. They like eating bananas. They are clever. Look! The bear is eating meat.
