Dick lived in England. One day in January he said to his wife, "I'm going to fly to New York next week because I will work there. ""Where are you going to stay there?' his wife asked. "I don't know yet," Dick answered. "Please send me your address, from there in a telegram (电报)," his wife said. "All right," Dick answered.

He flew to New York on January 31st and found a nice hotel in the centre of the city. He put his things in his room and then he sent his wife a telegram. He put the address of his hotel in it.

In the evening he went to a cinema. After seeing the film, Dick wanted to take a taxi to the hotel and have a nice dinner, but he didn't remember the name and address, of his hotel.

"What should I do now?" Dick said to himself. After a while, Dick went into a post office. There he sent his wife another telegram, and in it he wrote, "Please send me my address to this post office."

Passage Two Travelling Plan

Day 1—Arrive (到达) in London. Meet your guide (导游) and check in (登记入住) at the hotel.

Day 2—Begin the day with a visit to Windsor Castle-the queen and her royal (皇者的) family live there. Then move on to the London Eye, a new symbol of the city.

Day 3—Visit the Thames River, and enjoy the river on the river side. You can also see the Big Ben and the London Tower. Do some shopping in the afternoon along the Region Street the famous business area (商业区) of London.

Day 4—Visit the Great Britain Museum, you can learn a lot of history and the culture there.

Day 5—Take the train to Cambridge (剑桥) and check in at the hotel.

Day 6—Visit the world-famous Cambridge University, walk around the King College

(国王学院) and go boating on the River Cam (剑河) to see many famous bridges and the whole camps.

Day 7—Go to the London Heath row International Airport (伦敦希思罗国际机场) and take the plane back to Shanghai.

Mr. Brown’s family is on a trip. Now they are waiting for their baggage(行李) at the airport. They find Sally’s bag first. It’s small. It’s pink. Then Mrs. Brown finds Peter and Paul’s bag. It’s not small. It’s blue. Peter and Paul put their clothes and some favourite toys in it. So it’s a little heavy. Mr. and Mrs. Brown have a big suitcase (行李箱). They bring some clothes, a few books and some food. All of these are in the big suitcase. It’s heavy. It’s grey. Oh, it’s over there.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith come from London, England. They work in China now. They teach English in a middle school. They like their work very much. They have two children, Sam and Sue. They are both in Shanghai with their parents. Mr. Smith can’t speak Chinese, but his wife can speak it very well.  

Mr. Smith likes swimming and reading, and Mrs. Smith likes swimming and reading, too. They often go swimming in the afternoon and read in the evening. Sam and Sue like playing games with Chinese boys and girls. 

Sam’s uncle works on a farm near London. He likes swimming, too. He wants to work in Shanghai, but he can’ t speak Chinese. So he is still(仍然) there and goes to Chinese classes every day.

A mother camel is looking for water and grass with her son. The son is asking his mother, "What do water and grass look like?" The mother is answering, "The water is blue as the sky, and grass is not blue. It's green and nice." After a day and night, her son cries, "Look, Mother, there's water and grass there." "You're wrong, child. The water and grass are on the left, and the desert is on the right." The mother camel's left eye is blind. Now, the young camel finds an oasis （绿洲）, but his mother thinks that's not true. She says she knows more than her son and can't be wrong. Her son is not happy. He doesn't want to stay with his mother, so he goes away. He runs into the grass and eats his fill （饱）.
