There is a cat sleeping in the basket. A mouse comes. He sees the food. He is very hungry. He eats the food. Suddenly the cat wakes up and sees the mouse. He is angry. The mouse is afraid. He runs away and climbs onto the door. The mouse jumps off the door and runs away again. He goes back to the hole. The mouse is happy, but the cat is angry.

It’s not early. But Dick and Betty are still in bed. They feel cold and they like warm beds. Mother comes in. She says,’ Look, children. The world (世界) is white.’ The two children sit up and look out of the window. How nice! There is snow in the garden. There is snow on the trees and on the houses, too. ‘Let’s have fun!’ the children say.’ ‘You must put on warm clothes before you go out.’ Mother says.

Now the children are in the garden. Dick is making snowballs and throwing them at Betty. Betty is running to father for help, but she can’t run fast. What is father doing? He is making a snowman. The children begin to throw snowballs at the snowman.

Do you think the red mascot looks like a lantern(灯笼)? The lantern’s name is “Shuey Rhon Rhon”. People always make or buy red lanterns before Chinese New Year. Red is the colour of good luck, so people think their dreams will come true in the new year. “Shuey Rhon Rhon” can give players hope and help them do well in the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympic Games(残奥会).

Today is Saturday. It’s Mike’s birthday. He’s sixteen years old. He wants to play with his good friends in the park in the morning. They like playing football there. In the afternoon he wants to see a film with his mother. He loves films. Mike’s father is a good policeman. He buys a new skateboard for Mike. It’s big and red. It’s very nice.
