Yuan Longping was born in Beijing in September, 1930. He graduated(毕业) from Southwest Agricultural collage(西南农业大学) in China , in 1953. He is known as “ father of hybrid rice”(杂交水稻之父). As a scientist, he is not just sitting in the lab, but study in the fields. His work helps farmers a lot. He worked very hard. He was very good at agricultural(农业). He won lots of prizes(奖项).
