Miss Grey lived in a small house many years ago. She did not like noise(噪音) at all, and she was very happy because her new neighbour(邻居) was a quiet young man. But at three o’clock on Friday morning, the noise of a dog woke her up. She thought it must be the young man’s dog. So she phoned the young man, and said something bad about the dog and then hung up(挂断) the telephone. Nothing happened until three o’clock the next morning. Then Miss Grey’s telephone rang, a voice came, “You phoned me twenty-four hours ago. Now I want to tell you, I don’t have a dog.”
