Whales live in the sea. They are not fish. They're mam-mals (哺乳动物). They are large animals. There are many kinds of whales, such as sperm whales and blue whales.
A sperm whale grows to be about 18 metres long. It's longer than a killer whale. A sperm whale is good at diving into deep cold water. How long can a sperm whale live? More than sixty years.
The biggest whale is the blue whale which grows to be about 33 metres long. A female one is usually longer than a male one. A blue whale is difficult to weigh because of its size. A blue whale really has a big appetite (食欲). Sometimes an adult (成年的) blue whale can eat up 3,600 kilograms of krill (磷虾) in a day.
