Hans was a poor shoemaker and Joe was a rich trader (商人). They lived in the same house. Hans lived downstairs and Joe lived upstairs.
Hans liked singing very much. He sang while mending (修补) shoes. He sang loudly. Joe did not like singing. So he said to Hans, "Hans, I will give you a bag of money every day if you stop singing." "Very well," said the shoemaker.
